Description: Or so the rumor persists

"Battlestar" gets grounded by Sci Fi
By Nellie Andreeva Yesterday at 1:27 am
The upcoming fourth season of Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" will be its final one after all.
After months of speculation, the show's producers are set to make the announcement at a press conference Friday.
Ending "Battlestar" with the upcoming 22-episode fourth season was a creative decision made by the hit show's executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick.
"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," Eick and Moore said in a statement Thursday. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there -- we're going out with a bang."
The fourth and final season of "Galactica" will kick off in November with "Razor," an extended two-hour episode, with the rest of the season slated to run beginning in early 2008.
Sci Fi executive vp original programming Mark Stern said the channel's brass "respect the producers' decision to end the series."
For months, Sci Fi had dispelled rumors about "Battlestar" ending its run after the fourth season.
A couple of weeks ago, one of the show's stars, Edward James Olmos, was quoted as saying that the upcoming batch of episodes were definitely the last ones. Sci Fi issued a statement denying such a decision had been made.

What will Nicki do next? I hope the young actress gets a new gig. :)
Pedda - June 2, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
They shouldn't have killed off Kat! :ph43r: Now the masters over characters' life and death are swept away by god's own thunder!! :ph43r:
Nah, just kidding. ;) These days, Nicki should priortise being extraordinarily friendly to The Eickman. He has a habit of re-using BSG actors in one of the projects that are on his seemingly ever-expanding list. With her only major gig ("Totally Awesome") trashed by critics, it will be very, very hard for her, I'm afraid.
On the other hand, booking her for German conventions should become cheaper in a matter of months. :D

...did I come to the wrong fan board??? :rofl2:
Seriously, I hope Nicki gets a new gig. She was quite busy with small parts on various Vancouver filmed television series. I am sure she will pick up work again.
Of course we all know she wishes for another series.

I too hope she can land another series!
until then my wish is for her to maybe get a guest role on
STARGATE ATLANTIS or a movie being filmed in Vancouver.
And of course theres always the Conventions. Im sad the series ending but it also frees the actors for appearance
Knaves - June 4, 2007 12:37 AM (GMT)
I was thinking of Stargate as well. That was mostly because that was the only other science fiction show alive still.
Solium - June 4, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
I am sure Nicki dosent want to be type cast in Sci Fi, but I have to admit I would love to see her on Atlantis. Its the only other TV show I watch on a regular basis.
Knaves - June 5, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Not as a make-up covered Wraith either. Jewel Stait (Firefly) just got in oas a possible regular guest star, the SG-1 stars (including the Farscape kids) are making appearances. Atlantis just needs to get some Battlestar people on there. = )
If she stays to work in Vancouver then she probably will end up being in more Science Fiction shows than not.

Jewel will be the NEW Doctor on Atlantis next season! :o I would like to see Nicki show up not as an alien though???? Would be nice if maybe the Galactica actors could be considered for the 3rd Stargate spinoff
I agree with you, as long as Nicki stay home in Vancouver theres very little for her to do besides the Stargate series or maybe a feature now and then. And about that? It seems Hollywood doesnt film up there as much anymore?

Maybe a demon queen on Special Unit 2 with 3-4 back to back episodes as the organized leader? It would be screen time, an oppertunity to work with a different type of role, and a chance to see her in something other than an orage jumpsuit. THe problem that I have with regular TV is that there's not much on that's interesting anymore.

I second that! With BSG ending next season Im not looking forward to
what left on TV. Hopefully Nicki can find a good project in the future!

Is Special Unit 2 a new series???? I thought it was a canceled show in syndication? I have no idea really. I watched the show for 15 minutes at a time, and I rather like it.

Bodie Olmos
about Hot Dog and Cally in season 4: ;)
| QUOTE |
| "You have to keep this a secret," he said admitting that his character should end up with the very-much married Cally (Nicki Clyne). "Please don't tell her, and definitely don't let you-know-who find out. He would frakkin' toast me for sure." |
Knaves - June 12, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
haha, thanks Pedda! Now the only question is, who does he want to remain ignorant? the Chief or his own Father, star of 'Cally and the Commander'?

Why would he be worried that I would toast him? If there's a story line for it, there should be some screen time.

Guess will have to just look forward to the occasional BSG TV movie and Cally Easy Bake Corn Muffin Oven!

Well, I just read a fresh batch of S4 spoilers and speculation, and while I'm not gonna reveal anything (If you want to know, go
online and look yourself), all I can say is that I hope what I read is only rumor. :o
Solium - July 9, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
I find the whole premise of the fourth season ludicrous. I just watched the Mini Series in Hi Def yeserday and I have to say I cherrish the original premise of the series.
On a happier note it amazes me how much screen time Cally got in the mini! :dancingbunny: :cornmuffins:

I just got my hands on the S1 box wich include the mini series too... no HD though :(
No HD stuff in belgium yet :( wish there was though

Even in the US, S1 won't be out on HD DVD until September 18. What Solium is referring to, I think, are rips of the Universal HD broadcasts.
Oh and jeez, what a rumor!
sjorge - July 10, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)

Hehe, he lives in Tampa, Florida.
Fortunately, if you have broadband you should be able to obtain HD files as well. ;)

Umm, no..... no illegal downloading here. :P
Universal HD has played all of season three and it just ended a few weeks ago. I dunno about the first two seasons since I just got HD programming a few months ago. Last Sunday they had the mini series in one three hour chunk in HD. ( Only a few 15 second commercials an hour)
Now one odd thing, BSG HD is one of the worst HD programs on HD Television. For some reason it is very grainy and dark. Law and Order, Stargate Atlantis and even Surface look much better in HD. I don't understand the poor quality of HD BSG. <_<

BlackBirdCD - July 10, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
The grain you see in the BSG HD is put there intentionally. It's been there since the Mini-series. Personally, I think it looks fantastic in HD.
And as to Season 4... yikes.
I understand they've been modifying the main Galactica set to accomodate the shark tank and a ramp.

Well if its done on purpose that certainly explains why it is not as crisp as other HD programming. As far as HD grain, I will agree its grainy in all its HD glory.

#Solium: I know a few other people in florida too :) they have basements! You liar! ;)
What about attics? I live in the attic over here :)
The miniseries DVD is also very grainies compared to other dvd's i've seen... makes sense that if its intentional its in the HD aswel.

I'm in belgium way pay +- 80 USD for 15gb cap... I share that with 4 people... i'm not going to download a dvd fo 8gb or a hd movie of around 14!

Nope I am telling the truth. :D We dont have basements in florida. The sandy sides would not support basement walls and most of the state is below sea level and would flood.
If your friends have basements in florida that is a surprise for me. :o
I have an attic but its just a crawl space.

Just checked it's a simi-basement... 1/3 above ground level... its his game room :)
didn't know it was odd for florida
