Who knows if an official web site will follow but it is very exciting to see an official blog where her fans can read her thoughts and musings.

I noticed that right away. I would guess the blog was set to private until recently and that it was just redirected to the domain name, "www.nickiclyne.com. So for us fans its a "new" blog. Thats my guess! :P

Her comments are courageous regarding how open she is with her feelings which is very nice. I have some thoughts on her latest blog but will write about them later.

Edit: Nicki's own blog had me thinking about my experiences interacting with other fans. For those not bored to death by my writings I posted it on my MySpace page. :unsure:

Nicki updated her blog about her trip to England and her convention experience. She was quite taken by the warm hospitality she was given.

Also note a lot more new pics in her gallery section.

Of particular note, a scene cut from "The Son Also Rises". OMG! Cally is pointing a gun at Athena! :o ( and she doesn’t shoot?) Sure I have seen the out takes of Athena pointing the gun at Cally but not the other way around! B)

Still, I wonder how there could be so many previously unknown promo pics for a single episode - and all of them showing the same character. :huh: Does that mean they are regularly taking much more pics than the ones that are released?

I'm glad she enjoyed visiting Coventry and attending Reunion, her second European convention, if I'm not mistaken. Judging from the announcements on her blog, Aaron infected her with the con virus. ;)

Having attended Battlestar Atlantia, her very first European con, and having been treated incredibly well by Nicki there, I have no choice but to return the compliment. Her comment about small European conventions (them being "about a community of people coming together to have a good time rather than about getting a particular picture signed or ogling at a certain celebrity") sums it up pretty well, I guess.

I mean, I still go there because of the celebs, and I wouldn't pay hundreds of euros just for a BSG-themed party weekend. Yet, this feeling of low-key intimacy and the spirit of fun are omnipresent. Admittedly, there are only two TV cons in whole Europe that draw crowds above 300. Hence, the comparison with America's mega-cons is not so easy.

I think its all very cool. The boards have been so vicious against her and her character, granted the real fans left the wild ways of Skiffy so its opinions are off balanced.

But I also believe fans outside the US don’t have the stereotypical expectations that they do in the US.

I don’t mean to dump on the US, after all Luciana apparently had an awesome convention experience in Texas. So we can be polite too. :D

Just for the record, we are REALLY polite in Florida! :naughty:

I think because we just got season one we must lots of the media hype over in the US of A?

Not from the media but from "fans" or "trolls" that posted on the official US Sci Fi BSG Board. (Skiffy) There are always many very mean comments about both Cally as a character and Nicki Clyne as an actress. Just mean stuff.

Again, most of it unproportionate to her real fan base because most of her fans stopped posting on that board because it got so juvenile and mean spirited.

I wonder why people would want to break her down really... if they not so fond of her then they can just let her be...
but oh well, it's okay, we are all nicely together here without those mean peoples :)
I looked around on Skiffy a few times now but I didn't really stay yet. But I don't have so much time these days anymore because uni started again.

Besides I would like to discuss her blog a little more. How many here regularly read her blog? I really enjoy her writings and always look forward to her latest comments, observations and experiences.

To be honest, I've only read one or tho of her entrys. I'm not a big blog reader, but I looove the pictures :wub:

I dunno, Solium, if you opened a blog or a website to showcase some of your art you might find more people interested than you'd imagine. Especially your BSG Fan art.

I like the pictures on Nicki's blog as well. I also like her point of view on the conventions. Having never been to one I can only let my imagination run with the stories I read, and she does tend to give a bit more description about her con experiences than most of the celebrity guests.

Nicki Clyne is growing up so much. Its amazing to see her transform into a polished professional, and spokes person. She has an amazing gift as a people person and would do well as a tutor in a variety of fields.

So sorry life and PC problems have caused me to be lax here. :(
Great to hear that Nicki enjoy events and she looks great as always. I was talking to one of my friends not long ago and he was impressed with the attitude the Galactica actors have toward the fandom.
Its rare to find such a nice "People person" like Nicki in the business and Im so proud to have written her and call myself a fan! :thumbsup:

I read the HP books and love them. I made many friends over at a fan forum called the snitch. I met a spanish girl (well woman now) on there about 3 years ago.
A year later I was in the neighborhood of the town she lived.

We met and had lots of fun that day. So there is another example of how fandom can be very fun and good for your social life :friends:
