Description: Life after BSG

Solium - August 28, 2007 10:33 AM (GMT)
So I assume BSG is well into production... I haven't actually researched 4th season production dates, but I imagine within months BSG will wrap and Nicki will be free to seek another full time job.

I wonder if Nicki has anything in the wings? I wonder how difficult it will be for her to latch onto another series? She would be awesome in a comedy. But could fit into many drama series as well.

Nicki if you read this, give us a shout on your blog, and let us know when something new and exciting comes your way!

Lex - August 28, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
No matter what genre, Nicki will always be awesome. But I'd prefer a comedy, too.

And if she can't get a new role, there's still a open job as Sol's wife, ain't it? :naughty:

Depends on how long she survies. :ph43r: To my knowledge, filming for season four wraps in March. If Cally died in the first eight episodes, however, she may be back in audition mode 24/7 already. :(

Despite all my appreciation for Nicki's many qualities, I'm not very optimistic. I mean, how many films or series feature roles suitable for her (IMO great!) body type? Hopefully, her Ill-Fated and BSG credits will help her get a couple nice roles anyway... Also, she could start accompanying Aaron on his annual convention world tour. They're such an adorable couple, on and off screen.

This fact annoys the frak out of me! I actually think Nicki would be awesome in many things from a popular comedy like, "Friends" to a drama like "CSI". But I am sure you are right that because she dosent have Hollywood's perception of "star quality looks" she would have difficulty getting some major gigs.

Same applies for Luciana Carro. Because she is "shorter" than the average actress is an unfair mark against her I am sure.

There are very few "major stars" that interest me because of the "cloning" mentality of what a performer is "supposed" to look like.

ccat - August 29, 2007 10:49 AM (GMT)
I also think she would do great in a lot of different types of roles... I mean... in real life everybody is different too. But of course it's up to the casting people and not to us to decide... and I gues these people think differently about these things then we do. I do hope she can find a new thing to do soon then... hey... pedda, you think she won't make it to the end then? :o

Granted, not much. But there are some roles. I think you can compare her to Nicole deBoer. She's no Hollywood beauty, but she got the leading role in the dead zone.

Turning 24 this October, at one of the best SF conventions in the country!

'83 is good year, from Michael Jackson to IBM DOS, Returh of the Jedi, and the coming-out of open source.

And a whole load of new SF actors and actresses. (I'm actually born on the exact same day as Alona Tal from Supernatural)

Solium - September 18, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)

Actually, I know exactly what project Nicki should audition for next, movie project, but I'm going to make another thread devoted to it because I'm dead earnest about it

NiN_O_Negative - October 18, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Maybe the new Star Trek film?

If they ever do anything else with Firefly, I think she would fit in brilliantly, either as a new show, or as it is slightly more likely, a DVD movie.

she could be Hurleys new girlfriend in lost and last longer than his first one. : :cornmuffins:

Id support her in anything she stars in next, just like im gonna watch californication (spelling?) just because Mulders in it!

Solium - October 21, 2007 10:23 AM (GMT)
Shes always quite and reserve as an actress yet at the cons shes really animated and the life of the party. I really wonder what would happen if that "crazy animated" personality came out in a new character she might play in the future?

Seriously, I know EXACTLY what Nicki should be in next; its a movie roll, but production (much less casting) hasn't started yet.

Seriously this will be HUGE, and its not a big part but it is a speaking roll, and Nicki is SO this character that she's almost typecast for it.

Now, rather than simply say it (unless there are guesses?) I'm going to 1-learn how to make youtube videos then 2-make a youtube video explaining why Nicki should get this part, by playing scenes of the show in it. I might need help with this later. This won't be finished until like 2 months from now.

But seriously this is THE career move for Nicki to make.

It's like when a minor actor running by the name of "Orlando Bloom", while recovering from breaking his back, was told of this "bit part" he could get in this new trilogy of movies...

trust me on this...

I literally made my first AMV of any kind TODAY.

I don't know how to make AMVs and have to learn.

On top of this, I have to ask fans from the "other project" to give me video clips because I don't know how to make them and don't have access to any material.

I will in time post a list of "Cally scenes I need clips from"

I am dead serious you will understand once its finished.

For me it would be Jericho, but it probably won't last long.

I could just constantly watch re-runs of Battlestar Galactica.
