Title: Finally Got Season 3!... Yes i know, a bit late.

Hello all,

Just thought i'd express my excitement by informing all you Cally fans out there that i have now seen most of BSG to date down here in Australia (sounds lame, but this is the BSG section of this kickass website and i could'nt think of something to post). Bought the S3 boxset and then to my suprise found the entire collection in a single box set! Hell i sure was happy to sit down and watch my favourite character progress through the show. Have to say the best stuff yet from Nicki in BSG and i look foward to seeing more of her in season 4. Just excellent!

That was a very nifty suprise!

Congrats Kable! Nicki really grows as an actress in season three and so does her character.

I heard it wasn't supposed to come out until April in the U.S...

Dumb, every year for the past 2 or 3 years I've gotten Battlestar Galactica for christmas. I still got my Battlestar Galactica: Razor for this year but Season 3 apparently hasn't come out yet???

In this case, while its a drag for us fans, it makes a lot of marketing sense to promote and sell the third season just before the forth season airs. It's a good way to cross promote both the DVD's and the forth season.

I still can't believe why the UK and Australia already have their box sets and the US still has to wait for it.

And why are there so few Americans buying the UK box at Amazon.co.uk? Nearly every DVD-Player can be switched to codefree, and the import is totally legal and no problem at all.

I buy a lot of US DVDs directly at Amazon.com, because normally, the US release is months before the UK or German release. That way, I get my DVDs faster and (most of the time) even cheaper. So why don't you do the same in such cases instead of waiting months while the rest of the world already have the DVD?

Generally speaking the average American doesn't have a clue how to alter their DVD to codefree and the average American doesn't see the need in buying a codefree player.

Also in general the US gets most things months or years before everyone else so their isn't many times they have to "wait" to get what everyone else has. We may have the most "toys" but most of us only know how to hit the power button. :P

True, most of the time, you don't have to wait. But think about all those great british TV shows like Doctor Who or Torchwood. And of course the third season of BSG. I just want to help and inform you that import is no problem at all
;)
Switching a player to codefree can be a problem, in some cases it's impossible, but most of the time it's a simple code.

For example, my two players:
The first one: Switch the player on without a disk inside, press "menu", then "1", then "9". Then there's a new menu to select the regional code
The second one: burn a CD with an empty text-file, that you renamed to a certain name, put the CD in the player. New menu, select code, have fun.

BTW, if you switch to code "0", you can play every DVD, no matter what code. So you don't have to change the settings everytime you play an european DVD.

That's something even a tech noob like me can handle. Just google with your players name and "codefree", you'll find something.

The UK set of Battlestar's third season was released on Sept 3rd. Lucky me, I was in London on that day

Hmmm, interesting. I will see if those tricks work on my players....

Lex - December 29, 2007 07:47 PM (GMT)
If you want, you can PM me the name of your player, I'll have a look.

Jeez, I thought the US and the UK would get Battlestar stuff before us down here. I guess you learn something new everyday.

Three more months to go for uor American friends: Link

BTW, 15 hours bonus material will be well worth the long wait B)

sjorge - January 1, 2008 03:35 PM (GMT)
I'm waiting for the US release to... I could get the UK one but... my macbook pro is locked to region one! :ph43r:

Solium - January 1, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)

I haven't any of the seasons on DVD waiting for HD. However seeing how grainy they look on HD TV I might go ahead and pick the first two seasons up anyways. I would love to see the extras/deleted scenes with Cally. :D
