Axed GH Star: "It's Painful As the first casualty of the virus outbreak, Brad Maule's run as Tony comes to an end this week. BM says he told Jill Phelps that if he had to die, he couldn't have picked a better producer to kill him. He says she's one of the all-time great, honorable producers. If [one of his former executive pruducers] had killed him, it literally would have killed him because Brad didn't like her. But somebody he respects can kill him all he wants. BM says that doesn't mean it didn't hurt. He says he knows it's better for him because the show was wasting his life, but it is still painful. He has one child in college and he doesn't have any money coming in, so it's hard. Maule plans to move back to Texas. He'll be teaching at Stephen F. Austin University. He plans to make a life for himself there, altho he would love to get another great acting job. But he's not counting on it. He's got to get on with his life and the days of contracts on soaps are rare. He says he asked that they write him out nicely and they did. It was like the old days where he could talk and walk and feel. They used his history. IT was just like doing BJ's death scene. It was pleasurable in the most painful acting sense. He worked wtih Bobbie, Alan, Lucas, Monica and Luke. Maule's last airdate is FEB 10 Revolving Door IN: Adrien Neil (Anton Rush): Jason and Carly track down the tycoon on Feb 6 and 7. OUT: Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney): Look for Courtney to expire any day now... Tristan Rogers Feature Interview it's very very very very long. some highlights: -they asked him what it is like now vs back then, he says they move a lot faster, there's is a higher volumn of work (with less prep time) -he says it feels like the same show, except the previous era is sort of gone. PC was a happier place in the 80s. It's a much darker show now. -robert is the same take-charge person, perhaps a little more abrasive -onscreen, anna's whereabouts have so far not been discussed by robert. there's no time to get into it -robert's professiobnal life: he's been involved in a line of work which won't be popular. he got out of it thru his own volition and decided he wanted to do something a little more worthy, that's what leads him back. They also have this other little thing of, "Daddy, where have you been for 14 years?" -he says it feels great to him. they are involved in a story which is much more of the traditional 80s type of adventure and romance, and it fits well with him. it remains to be seen how it will fit with the current audience, because they haven't had a lot of this. It's luke and robert doing their shtick. he talks about his personal life too great interview and pics MISS: GH's L-word is 'Lukewarm' The Lucas being gay storyline is a miss. No pacing. Very contrived. Plot twist that seemed to come out of a bad Lifetime movie (Frank turned out to be a gay-basher. What's the big deal about someone being gay in PC anyway? They aren't in the boonies. Soap writers don't write stories about people being straight, so they shouldn't have written this story about Lucas being gay. They said OLTL did it much better in the 90s with Billy Douglas. The final insult was his mother, an ex-hooker, judging him....now THAT's shocking Public Opinion & Mail Call Bella in Oregon would like to see Liz reunite with Jason. There's nothing sexier than the combination of the good girl and the bad boy. Stacy in SC says Emily is dumb and deserves to get involved with Sonny, who is no prize. Carly should let Emily have Sonny. MAIL CALL: Hopefully, Anna will be the next blast from the past to return http://soapzone.com/boards/read.php/gh/main/6188119 Next Week's Spoilers Jason and Carly follow a lead to a tycoon named Anton, who has a tie to a pharmaceutical company named Crylium Industries. To find out what he's up to, Carly poses as a hooker to get in his room while Jason searches for information. Using Luke's blood, Robert, Robin and Patrick work on developing an antidote for the encephalitis virus then worry how they'll decide who is vaccinated. Liz tells Jason and Carly that they figured out that someone actually created the deadly encephalitis virus that is sweeping through Port Charles. Meanwhile somewhere in the Maarkam Islands, Lucky regains consciousness in a lab, where he's going to be used as a guinea pig to test a cure for the virus. Back in PC, Emily freaks when she overhears Robert telling doctors to put Sonny on the bottom of the list of those to receive the medicine. Both Emily and Ric rebut everything Robert said about Sonny and they try to convince the council of doctors that Sonny should also get the antidote. Emily overhears Sonny telling Nikolas that he has decided not to get involved with Emily because of what happened to Lily. Haunted with nightmares about Kristina's near-death, a hallucinating Alexis acts violently towards Sam, causing Danny to go berserk and attack Alexis. With his options narrowing and Lulu's life now hanging by a thread, a desperate Luke turns to a surprising source for help. He later has a heart-to-heart with Robert about miserable parents they've become.
