Taylor has been around a long time, but for most of his fans, mainly since Idol. This Take 2 Topic will feature his memorable peformances from the beginning of that Journey....one we've taken and stayed in step with Taylor all the way. ALL AI CLIPS ARE COURTESY OF MY BUDDY VINMAN.
This week we will feature two videos, and then after that, one weekly to remind American WHO won Idol Season Five and WHY! These are songs only...YOU all can be the judges. Feel free to add your commentary :) Enjoy!

To see Taylor again from the beginning brings such a smile to my face. What a clear true voice he had then and still does. It is just watching the real Taylor doing what he loves to do. Thanks for doing this Gypsee.

:) America surely DID get it right, Gypsee!! Really enjoyed these wonderful videos and, YES, they certainly make it very clear WHY Taylor won AI Season 5!! :clap

Having witnessed Taylor's transformation from Hicksville to Hipsville, I love to be reminded of those early appearances.
His body movements, his hair, his clothes, his posture, his facial expressions all bespoke volumes of his insecurity and homespun background. He found it difficult to look at the judges .His joy at going to Hollywood was so very poignant.
Levon showed great change in confidence and appearance ( minus that ugly shirt ). The beginning of Taylor with his signature jacket. He now looks at the audience , but still is a bit reserved.
He is beginning to ripen.

Thanks Gypsee - This will be particularly fun for me to watch, because I missed most of Season 5 (or any season before that one) - :lol: I am sure glad my grandson alerted me to watching the show just once in mid-April that year!! :) I watched it every week after that, but I did miss most of the year - I am really looking forward to watching the rest of these videos every week!

What a fun way to celebrate the anniversary!
In the audition clip, I always wonder if Simon is looking over there at either Nigel or Ken....in Taylor's book he mentions that Nigel told him that they (the judges)"will never put you through".
Simon uses the same words to Taylor.
Anyway, so glad Paula & Randy are independent of Simon. I am sooo grateful!!!
