This week is a class act for sure! What do YOU have to say about this great performance of "Livin For The City," the next in line of the songs Taylor sang.

I liked this performance. Before the performance though when they showed him with Stevie Wonder..you could just see his excitement....that was GREAT!

I thought he looked wonderful here....sounded great! I dug the dance too :)

Oh..and after he sang when they showed the audience seeing how happy Brian was (Of course at the time I had no idea who he was just a friend) and how proud all of his friends appeared..that was a feel good moment :)

I loved this performance! First of all, he looked really sharp in that white shirt, suit jacket and dress pants! Add to that, the enthusiasm with which he performed this song and the tone of his voice - WOW - it was amazing.

He knew that he had nailed that one!

My favourite performance of Livin' for the City was when he was on the AI Tour!
Remember when he told the audience to "find that groove" and then he took everyone to Church?

It was July 7, 2006 and the video was shared by krunkgroovy. I never did see any other tour videos where Taylor performed this song that particular way. I always wondered why he didn't ever do the "find that groove" moment again.

Thanks for the lookback, Gypsee!

Well , well,

I loved his entrance, he was all smiles and looked confident. His vocal range and the arrangement of the song were super. Loved the thumbs up signs and gaze out at the audience ,as if to say........."well gang, I was pretty good , wasn't I ".

The movement was terrific except for the "round in circles" move which has never been one of my favorites.

I love this performance. Taylor is such an entertainer and he
stood out from everyone else from the beginning . He took AI
to a level that will never be surpassed. He is a magnet that
draws people to watch him . He was born to perform and entertain.
LOVE...LOVE...LOVE... THIS PERFORMANCE. THANK YOU!
(PREFER THE SHORTER HAIR THOUGH :biggrin )- CYDTER

OK... here we go. Up to this point, I had been watching Taylor and enjoying his performances, and I knew he would go far in the competition, but that was about it. I wasn't exactly crazy about the way he looked- to me, his clothes always looked like he just rolled out of bed in them (maybe he did...!!) and the straight-across cut bangs never did a thing for him. So I was not expecting what I saw this night. This was the night I totally fell in love with Taylor Hicks- I saw him coming down that ramp, and my heart caught in my throat- he was gorgeous- that suit and white shirt, and his hair- soft, shiny, a bit of the longish side for him, and gently swept to the left-I lost my heart that night.

Enough of that now. The performance was wonderful. His vocals were spot on and he sang with more feeling than I think even Stevie could muster up...sorry, Stevie- I think Taylor sings it better than you do. This was the first time we saw the "Taylor-go-round", but certainly not the last- he has definite signature moves, but this is the one I wait to see when he's performing. And this was also the first time I realized he carried his harmonica around everywhere with him...lol. All in all, this is a great performance. I don't think the *purple-jacket version* for the final show can touch this one. (and Karin... you are SOOOOOO right about *The Groove*... my very favourite....oh man...!!!)

Thanks for all the comments here...I am so loving this performance again. It was sort of turning point for him, I think.
