FABULOUS EVENING as we continue to relive in sequence, the AI weeks. This week is one of his very best, in my opinion:

I absolutely LOVED this performance!!!
I loved the song...his voice...his "serious" side!!! Definitely one of my favorites.
Plus, the leather coat :drool :drool and the jeans :drool :drool

The only trouble with "Trouble" is that it was not long enough.
I didn't know enough about this young man at the time, so reflecting back , I understand how much of himself he put into this song. His inflections, his facial movements, his body control and the passion of his performance are much more evident to me now.
Also love the leather jacket, but then I am a fan of the jacket , shirt and jeans Taylor above anything else.
My favorite moment was when he pointed at the band at the end of the song and gestured .........CUT IT !!! Musicianship and control were apparent even then.

:hearts I fell in love with this song.... I remember copying it a CD so I could listen to it in my car over and over. LOL!
Taylor really does a wonderful job with this "UNIQUE" performance.

That has always been one of my fav performances. I could never understand Simon's critque re: the song selection. Guess in retrospect we now understand.
I actually looked up Ray LaMontagne's version and prefer Taylor's. It would a a good song to cover on a future cd. I agreed with Taylor's comments that he chose it to show his full range. Always thinking --that's our guy.

Simon actually was good with this performance. He said "I quite like the song. I thought it was an excellent vocal."
His issue was with the "styling" and said it was so Clay Aikin.
Okay, that's the only time I will EVER defend Mr Cowell. :LMAO

BonBon
I loved all of Taylor's AI performances but this one was special. I like the way he showed the audience how to feel a song and not just sing it. And by the way, LOVED the styling!!! And, did I see :harmonica2 in his pocket?

My first impresstion is that they put too much blush on him- he looked quite made-up, especially standing in front of the judges. But the performance itself was wonderful. I had never heard the song before, and I have heard Ray sing it since, and I don't like it nearly as much as I do Taylor's...sorry... I love the look after his second "saved by a woman"... I watch for that every time I see this video and I wait for it, hoping he doesn't leave it out this time.. :confused His voice was perfect for this song, and I would have liked to have heard him do the whole thing.

I had never heard this song prior to this performance either but I definitely loved it!
Each week just got better and better. Taylor continued to introduce me to new songs and he clearly demonstrated his natural talent. Would love to have him do this cover on a future CD.

I loved the performance and Taylor's take on it, but that t-shirt has to go! Keep the leather jacket though!

:) I've always loved this performance by Taylor! It seemed that the unique versatility of style we would observe week-to-week in the competition was really evident in this performance -- his outfit, his serious side, his passion, his stage presence and the way he made the song "his own." (And of course, as mouser said, his "musicianship" at the end of the performance!) :P
:lilheart Loved it!!! :lilheart

Gr8fulheart here:
I need not view this performance again to remember! The vocals ~ The looks ~ The stance ~ Oh My! :thud2 And the shirt, jeans & jacket? :o
I agree the performance was way too short But don't know whether I'd be alive to post this today if it was any longer. Lets just say I thought for a moment, I was rabid!
