WOOOO HOOOOO SINCE I LIVE IN WV YOU KNOW I LOVE THIS SONG. LOL

Taylor has been quoted as saying he thought for sure he'd go home after that performance. For me, I think that's probably when I started voting like a maniac! I always liked that performance - it showed Taylor's versitility and vocal range. Only thing missing was the dancing!

This was really the only one I didn't care for, but knowing it wasn't Taylor's favorite either, I can say he did a really good job with it. But then, I like hearing him sing anything at any time :)

I am not a country music fan. John Denver was never a favorite of mine and neither is this song. Taylor did a Taylor, but vocally it was not his best appearance.

A bad Taylor is better than a good anyone else in my book.

I know for a lot of people this wasnt a good performance..or their favorite. But I absolutely LOVED it. I remember when he was singing how excited I was about it. And then the judges all hated it. I didnt understand why.

Its still one that I LOVE to watch....I dont know why. Maybe because I LOVE John Denver..I LOVE country music...I dont know. But I loved it.

The following night on the results show I think was the first time I really noticed him being "nervous". But when Kellie and Chris were in his group..I wasnt worried :)

This one didn't do it for me. I am sure if he did it today - we would love it.
Has he done this since AI? ( I think he has???) I just think this was a very stiff performance for him. Not the best Taylor... but we'll take it anyway. It was the "scary" week - but the Soul Patrol pulled him thru!! Whoo Hoo!

Gr8fulheart here:
Don't need to watch the video since I can tell you from memory my thoughts & 'judgism'. Shortly after Taylor began the song, my inaudible response was "Oh No Taylor ~ I hope this doesn't eliminate you!" Thank Goodness the decision isn't based on one performance. It was like I could see he was physically there But this wasn't 'Taylor'! Does that make any sense?
At the Heart Full of Soul Book Reading event, he even said that he was 'flat' through the whole song. I was so nervous about that performance & so relieved that everyone took into consideration ALL his performances. At that book reading event, he was asked to sing a bit of Country Roads. Oh My ~ What a difference! Now That was our Taylor!

Here's Taylor and Ace doing it in Huntington WV during the AI tour. The crowd loved it!!

Now, I was really nervous on results nite. I thought for sure I had seen the last of my SoulMan. It was not his best performance. His friend Keb'Mo told him not to do it, because it didn't suit him, but he did it anyways. All I can say is, nails bitten to my elbows, the voters pulled it off and he stayed...and stayed...and stayed... With Kenny Rogers as their mentor that week, I think Taylor would have done a fabulous rendition of "Lady"- I would die to hear him sing that.

Gr8fulheart again:
I definately agree with the post above about Taylor singing 'Lady'. That would have been HOT! He did say on an interview that he sang it for the miners because of the tragedy that had taken place recently.
Once again, he took the spotlight off himself to honor others. Isn't that one of the reasons we Love & admire him so much! :P
