Awesome! I think I'll be using those Primarch USR's for Corax when I make the rules for him.

Hmm, interesting, but a bit overpowered. Any army that does not have a primarch shouldn't even bother setting up. Russ himself could probably pull the army apart by himself... Fluff-wise, these are probably accurate when viewed from the perspective of a line astartes or an imperial army man, but gaming-wise, they seem to take the cake... (no offense intended).

I would personally remove the init 1 disadvantage. Most of the enemies that would be suitably cowed by this would be striking after you anyway.

With his weapon skill, I don't think Preferred enemy is of any use as you will most likely be hitting them on 3s anyway...

I personally feel that 8 Wounds is a bit excessive. I would either have him as a Monstrous Creature or reduce this number so he can go with his bodyguard.

Just a few thoughts as they occured to me, Hope they can be of some use...

Morning I am "Captain Kharn" who worked on these Primarch rules with Wolf Lord. Firstly sorry for the typo! :) wounds should not be 8 it was a typo from last nights development on it it should be 5/6 depending on people's opinions as we are in slight contention over this.

At first glance this test rules set does come across as a bit Op and typos does not help that matter. But we did attempt to develope this inline with the current and upcoming 40k rules.

Monstrous creature was something that was overlooked (purely by accident) and I think this rule would sort out a lot of problems with these test rules.

The Wolf Howl was a lot worse belive me lol :) But I think now its in a justifiable position as its usable as a relic so once per battle. While yes the Initiative decrease is probably of no use to Russ' himself, its of more use as a support tool to the Wolf Squads around him which is why its limited to 12" It was purely the easiest way I could think of at the time to decrease the combat potential of a opposing unit and a one time Furious Charge does seem Op with this but for a game of 3000pts I dont see this when considering the size of Game we are talking about.

Any form of Primarch will probably seem OP when compared to the current state of 40k gaming and fluff does not really help when you read stories of them wiping out small armies

But I think the Montrous creature change as mentioned by Weiss will actually help balance this out more.

thanks for the C&C so far, every little bit helps :)

(currently in works: L'ion El Johnson, Angron)

That's cool. It does have to be said that the kind of engagements these guys would be involved in would probably be in excess of a 3000pt-equivalent army, so there is a certain perspective to be maintained, you're right.

As regards the Monstrous Creature conundrum, I would have personally gone for the second option I gave. Being a MC removes any point in him (or any primarch for that matter) having a bodyguard... It also neutralises some of the Mjalnar abilities. A primarch is big, but not really that big (in comparison to say, a greater daemon (well forgeworld ones anyway).

If you need any help with Ferrus Manus... :D

DiSTudios - June 5, 2008 11:40 AM (GMT)
Hmm perhaps the target rules changes for upcoming 40k may impact this for us anyways so yes we will move away from the Mc ruling (based on additional feedback/play testing). Too many decisions *mind melts* :D

Ferrus is defo on the list (being one of my personal favs hehe) so we will definitly get you in the loop for that one :)

Weiss - June 5, 2008 11:52 AM (GMT)
That's great, cheers man! I believe that "true" line of sight rules in 5th, though whther the MCs get a cover save or not is something to find out.
