Title: My primarch Artwork
Tarik Torgaddon - July 10, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
So I got myself a special permit from
Shroud himself to create a second blog :D. Were I will be posting pictures of my primarch drawings, Yes I do intend to draw them all. The Primarchs will be drawn with a mix of what the fluff says about them and how I imagine them myself. I will in the end have drawn two pictures of every primarch, one straight up and down and one with the primarch in action. I'm not the best artist around but I do believe I'm capable of drawing decent pictures, though I have my bad areas. Anatomy?...What's that? :P So I addition to being a way for me to become a better drawer, this topic will try to show you people my visions of the primarchs, and hopefully they will inspire people to create minis or artwork of the primarchs themselves. And if you have a picture of a primarch you have drawn, feel free to share it with us here :)
So enough of my rambling (It's the rage-enhancing implant that does it, I swear ;) ) Here's the first three of 'em: Fulgrim, Angron and Ferrus.

Next up is Corax, this is the info I have atm:“Next to the broad, mightily muscled primarch of the Iron Hands, Corax of the Raven Guard was tall and slender, his armour was also black, but it seemed to be utterly non-reflective, as though it swallowed any light that dared fall upon it. The white trim of his shoulder guards was fashioned from pale ivory, and great wings of dark feathers swept upwards to either side of his pallid, aquiline features. His eyes were murderously dark coals, and long, gleaming talons of silver were unsheathed over his gauntlets. So far, the primarch of the Raven Guard had said nothing, but Balhaan had heard of this of Corax, that he was a taciturn warrior who kept his counsel until he had something of worth to impart.” - Fulgrim
Any other Ideas?

Awesome mate, if memory serves me right I had a similar tread under the old regime (oh yeas shudder as the shadows of darker times comes over you all :P )
Only managed to make some of them before I lost focus.
Awesome detail-work mate and love the interpretations.
The only things you need some work on are as you said anatomy and maybe some poses.
Looking forward to the next one.
Dont remember if I wrote it in the Angron tread but that one is truly great. Dont think Ile ever be able to imagine him or do a sketch of him of my own without thinking Ive ripped this one off.
Fulgrim - July 10, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
Awesome as always, as i said I'd love to see your Night Haunter. So do you want me to post the description from Dark King? For after Corax, of course.
Tarik Torgaddon - July 10, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah, off course :) Any and all information I can get on the primarchs is useful.

Great sketches Tarik!
glad the Phoenix comp inspired you to do more.
The evil Angron face is pretty much how I think of him too ;)

Ok...
| QUOTE (Dark King) |
| Lank hair hung to his neck like black ropes and spilled across his wide, powerful shoulders... He crossed the chamber and placed his hand on the skull-faced helmet...the sweeping wings rose from its sides like pinions of some avenging angel of night. The burnished plates were dark, each one contoured perfectly to his form and worked with gold edging that caught the sunlight...until the skull faced visor connected to his gorget... His vision shifted subtly and his perception broadened as he blended with the shadows. Curze owned the darkness...His fist punched through the armour of the first Phoenix Guard...Night Haunted felt the ever-present anger seething under his skin |
Thats all I got.

Thanks man :) , think I'm going to do konrad after I'm done with Corax (that sounds so wrong <_< )
Primarch Corax - July 17, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
How are the pictures coming?
Tarik Torgaddon - July 17, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
I'm actually stuck atm, I'm not sure which kind of armour to give him, any ideas?
Fulgrim - July 17, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
Slender, tight fitting, plate armour.
Primarch Corax - July 18, 2008 08:02 AM (GMT)
I agree, give it a subtle, dark edge though.

Haven't got much drawing done lately because I've moved, but yesterday I started on Corax again and should have him done next week some time. But I'm not sure on how which look/design to give his lightning claws? Any ideas?
Tarik Torgaddon - August 17, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
Ok here we go, a WIP picture of Corax:
Primarch Corax - August 17, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
Excellent! Fantastic, uniquely captures Corax. Also, make his lightning claws, like the ones Shrike wears, but a bit more slender and smaller. And we musn't forget his "winged jump pack"!

Ok, haven't really done much on these guy's in a while...
But I have at last begun on a piece of a certain very angry man.
So this is a very wip piece, and not wanting to reveal to much of what's going on, let's just say that "Mr. Anger management issues" is having a slight dispute with this here ork. And it's not gonna end pretty for the green one.
