The biggest thing that puts me off doing Alpha Legion is the purple colour scheme.
This test model is what I think the colour most probably looks like but am not entierly sure.
What do you guys think?

I think the purple could use more blue into the mix.
I think it should be a dark violet so much so it could pass as purple or blue
kind of like this

Im inclined to agree wiht will, whilst it is a really nice colour its not blue enough for the alphas.....

Hmm, I always thought it was a blue colour but in the past most have argued it was more purple.

I'll try a few more examples I think, one darker blue and one regular blue.

There in lays the problem :lol: . Some people see it as a Blue other see it as a Purple. i was voteing more on the purple side Because of a other post some wher eon the boards that said the HH books where going to be the Fluff we should be useing from now on. So with "Legion" there was a few parts in the book that say the armour is Purple. that's what i was goign to go with on mine also. Why i think you hit it pretty dead on the frist time. WHy i myself would lov eto know how you cam up with this frist color :)

Maybe the 'Purple or Blue' debate comes from the fact Midnight Blue itself can't decide if it's Purple or Blue, being such a s**tty paint! :)

I myself am modelling the marine on the cover of the Horus Heresy book 'Legion,' and have mixed up a dark purple/blue that I think you should try Doghouse.
Its a 1:1:3:2 mix of liche purple, enchanted blue, midnight blue, and water. If the paint is too thick you could also add another part or two of water.

I've come to see the Alpha Legion colour as Violet, which is both blue and purple.

I think Vallejo do Violet colours.
