Hi all,
After playing with different codices, i guess pre-heresy army could be made with all of them.
so here's my almost finalized thoughts on the WE army list. the standard is 2000 pts and i tried to put a balnaced force with a good representation of what, i think, is a good picture of the WE.

So, i got a net preference for the first list, it seems to more reliable and offers a lot of tactical possibilities, the second is list is okay but the cost of BA are higher and the style of play is quite straight forward. The last one is maybe the most useful to give a real WE character to an army, but the cost of model is limiting the option pretty soon and even at 2000 pts, you always got less models than a "normal" SM army. Furthermore, playing Khorne is like playing Greenskins in power armour, one it gets in close combat.....
Comments and suggestions would be appreciated

:blink: Im slightly confused about the chaos space marine list, youve got squads of seven, you do know the lucky number of Khorne is 8? :huh:
and It may sound silly to ask this but, is this list for normal or PH 40k, if for the 40,000 millenium I would add a defiler with both weapons on its hull repalced with close combat weapons.
6 DREADNAOUGHT close combat weapon attacks on the charge and it has fleet so it can make a total move including its assult of 18", I even use this and im a nurgle player cause it beats things into the ground, imagine what it can do for you being a khorne player!

For the Chaos list: it's 7 marines + 1 aspirant, so 8 total
All the lists are intended to be PH 40K

2 quick questions.
Ive decided to use chaos list for my WE to take units LARGER then 10 to show the lack of Astarties during PH. Is this correct/not a good idea?
Also why would you bother going for units of 8 in pre-heresy. They arnt Khornes yet! :)

An interesting question raised.
...Because the HH books rattle this tradition a little. Death Guard have 7 companies - this is before their alignment to Nurgle. Who gave who the sacred numbers?

The one advantage of the Chaos Codex is the larger squad sizes, plus I think it makes it easier for people to use the different rules to represent the different Legions if you want to use a combined force.
Plus you could use the beserker rules to represent the "implanted" marines of the WE Legion.

Yes my berserkers will be my generals unit.
The other clear advantage imo is that chaos marines get 2 attacks each as they have chainswords. This shows the WE prefrence for CC.
Oh and on a smaller related note i really really hate the PH heavy weapons so being able to take 2 special weapons in a unit is nice... mmm flamers.
