In order to keep track of good traders on the forum, here's pretty easy system:

Each time you complete a good trade/deal/purchase etc that started on this forum, you just add the name of your partner and +1

EXAMPLE: I traded some SM bits with Mabrothrax, we both received the traded parts so we can both add a good feedback to each other as follow:
I add a reply on this thread with 'Mabrothrax +1' and Mabrothrax can add a reply to the thread with 'Jul063 +1'

As we don't have a volume of trades here as much as eBay or btown, the list will be updated regarding the number of trades done and replies posted.

Please note that just trades that started on this forum can receive a feedback comment here.
EXAMPLE: I purchased some stuff from Bigwill via eBay, I won't leave him a +1 here as eBay already has a feedback system...

What if my trade partner has got no feedback

if you want to trade with someone with no or low refs,
- you can use the rule of Lower feedback ships first
- ask him to ship items with Tracking Numbers, Delivery confirmation...any thing that may prove that shipment has been made
- don't trade with him

What if something goes wrong

if your partner doesn't seem to ship his part, pay after the deal was conclude etc... in any case if you feel you have been ripped off, the first thing to do is to try to sort it out with your trading partner by email, PM, phone etc...

If nothing happens, move to the next step which is to contact an Admin with as much as possible info about the trade (Emails with head of letters, PM, proof of shipping...etc... and post it here in the trading section. Time will be left to the person involved to response any thing in the post in a timely manner.

If nothing happens there, a warning will be issued to the person that didn't meet his part of the trade, he will be noted as well as a Bad Trader in the Straight Shooters List which means that trading with this person should be done with extreme care and precaution.

Furthermore, not respecting his engagement in a trade constitutes a felony in many countries. In the USA, it's a FEDERAL OFFENCE (constituting mail fraud) which means the FBI will be after you and you could be arrested, asked to pay a fine and/or doing some time. All the tools exist to make those processes easy for normal people and remember that it is easy to track a ripper back nowadays...

In any case, the trading guidelines must be read and understood so i repeat them here:

1) What you offer for trade/sale is your responsibility.
There are no restrictions on what you can offer for trade, as long as it is vaguely linked to pre-Heresy gaming or background. Please try to be as accurate as possible in your descriptions, and be realistic in your asking price/trade offers. If possible, post pictures AND descriptions of what you are offering.


2) Don't ask us to sort it out if a trade or sale goes bad.
We just offer a meeting place - we don't vouch for the reliability of a seller or the state of an item. If you feel you have been cheated, try to resolve the issue openly on here, or take up any issues of refunds etc with your payment agent (bank, PayPal etc). The moderators and board admin do indeed have information on every board member, but we are not going to give that to you so you can resolve a complaint. Don't even ask us.

Hmm, I may have spotted a flaw in the system...

Using Torgs example, we see he has + 6, and we assume that means 6 good trades. But what if he'd had 6 good trades and 2 bad (or something similar, my maths may be failing me...). How would we know from his rating that 25% of his trades have actually failed? Perhaps when bad trades do get scored they should be recorded separately e.g. Anodyr +6/-4 would mean I did 6 good trades and 4 bad.

BTW, I'm not saying Torgs a bad trader, just using him as an example.

he would get +6/-2 in red with WARNING written close to his name like this:

Torgs +6/-2 WARNING

and Torgs is not a bad trader, he's just the example (sorry mate)

i suppose that, if someone appears to be a bad trader, a post would be open, so the Warning could be linked to the regarding post using[http://=WARNING][/http://] BBC code

But yeah I can understand,and agree that is a good idea.
And yes I have only really bought and traded maybe 6 times on the forum
(not to mention all the times, I have done business with Iacton.... :D ;) )
