Rogal Dorn - January 28, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
its only fitting....im gonna say they were recuited from an extreme gravity world and were so different from the regulars they had to be put into squads by themselves ;)
Rogal Dorn - January 28, 2008 06:11 AM (GMT)

Rogal Dorn - January 31, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)

i love squats...BRING THEM BACK!!!
BigWill - January 31, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
I know you've been told of the book Space Marine.
Once you get your hands on that you need to get
The Inquisition War Triology(Draco,Harlequin,Chaos Child) it is kind of the continuation so to speak as the main character in Space Marine is a Capt of a company in the Inquisition War.
Has alot of Squat stuff and the old Emperors "Kids"(Sensei) fluff and of course plenty of Rogal Dorn worshiping goodness
Rogal Dorn - January 31, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
thanks, ill order them asap
Torg - February 1, 2008 02:48 PM (GMT)
Would maybe using a few dwarf models and making them 40kish
count as squats?Or is there more to it?
Vredesbyrd - February 1, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
The WiP Sniper is one of the metal Dwarf Thunderers, so to a certain extent you can just 40k Dwarfs (or 30K as the case is here).
Only problem is that Squats had Power and Terminator Armour equivalents - the Exo Armour seen above being one example, so 30King Dwarfs may be fairly difficult as they'd need armour, bikes etc.
Rogal Dorn - February 1, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
yea, but most are easily converted...simply add a lasgun...ill take some pics of my converts and more real squats later
ShroudFilm - February 4, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
There are some tasty Confrontation minis which are essentially steampunk dwarves with unwieldy guns - perfect for Squats!
They don't look like little humans either, they have oversized heads and eyes, rather like something out of Manga... I will try to post pics.
Rogal Dorn - February 8, 2008 06:43 AM (GMT)
dont bother! those minis are disgusting! my game store had them on sale 1.50$ a pack and nobody bought any

Your saying that Rackham miniatures are horrible? Get out of my house you heathen! Hehe.
The Dwarves of Mid-Nor aren't the nicest of Rackham's miniatures but they are still cool.
*Wanders off to stroke Wolfen models and mutter under breath*
ShroudFilm - February 20, 2008 04:23 PM (GMT)
Horrible? Those minis blow steaming chunks out of WOTC and a lot of GW's stuff... some of their stuff is on a par with Forgeworld!
Don't get confused between 'poor minis' and 'sculpts you don't personally like'. If you were selling Confrontation minis at £0.75 GBP over here, people would be taking your hand off... I can't be held responsible for poor taste on the part of your local store's customers! :D
Rogal Dorn - February 20, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
LOL
and no Weiss no progress....im working on some troopers and a painting a few exo suits....
and on an unrelated topic ;) hows a good way to paint resin? because when i paint the silver it shows up odd looking
Vredesbyrd - February 20, 2008 11:36 PM (GMT)
First of all you need to make sure you've cleaned the models fully as they have lubricant on them which allows them to be removed from the moulds that they're made in.
Clean them in warm water, with a little washing up liquid and an old toothbrush.
Other than that they should paint up just as normal.
ShroudFilm - February 20, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
I learned the hard way about cleaning resin before painting - got halfway through doing my WE dread and his face fell off...
A quick dunk in soapy water usually suffices for stuff like the RS MK4 head sprues but for full casts or bigger kits you will need a toothbrush.
Vredesbyrd - February 21, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
I had a similar experience with the Titan Techpriest - painted him for a mate's Guard army as an Enginseer. Spent hours painting him, finally got him finished and went to bed. When I got up in the morning he was nearly naked again. I cried a little.
Rogal Dorn - February 21, 2008 05:03 AM (GMT)
oh i washed them, and the paint went on fine.but for some reason the resin makes the metallic look.....strange....ythats the only wayt to describe it really
Rogal Dorn - February 24, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
w00t my other squats came in! 8 bikes, 2 are heavy weapons+1 living ancestor sidecar. ive decided to painyt my squat bikers like hells angels....

Rogal Dorn - February 24, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)

Weiss - February 25, 2008 08:23 AM (GMT)
Looking good man, get them painted!
Rogal Dorn - February 25, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
with the squat warriors should i stick to the red/black scheme or do an Inquisitorial granite grey with deep red trim?
ShroudFilm - February 25, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
I like the red-black, but go with what you feel looks best!
Personally, I'd say stick to the 40k minis... converted WFB Dwarves look like exactly what they are... :D
Rogal Dorn - February 26, 2008 01:38 AM (GMT)
yea but that was a year ago, before the guy showed up selling 6k points of Squats....all of which im buying
Rogal Dorn - March 1, 2008 01:06 AM (GMT)
