Itsme - January 29, 2008 05:27 PM (GMT)
Hello to all.
New board new projects.
Here is the first of my Custode Terminator.

The paintjob is mine.
What do you think.
Every C&C is as always very welcome.

renlegunvrs - January 29, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
very nice i like it but what is it holding a flamer? (sorry havnt seen that weapon before)
Vredesbyrd - January 29, 2008 06:32 PM (GMT)
Welcome back Itsme, glad to see you made it over here.
This guys looking nice, though the only thing I'd say is his face looks a little too pallid, almost dead to me. Other than that some nice work there, it'll be good to see some PA guys too. It'd be cool if you could post your World Eaters in the Painting section.
@ren - Its the Custodes Terminator flame weapon found in the Horus Heresy artbooks, available from the
Black Library.

Absolutely! This site does not need to be seriously compromised by any possible infringement of Games Workshop's Intellectual Property. Just remember that the selling of any such castings is illegal.

Nice work. The leather skirt thing (can't remember what they're called) looks really neat!
Magos Explorator - January 30, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
The model is fantastic. :) I really like the flamer--very old-school. And I think that the pale flesh helps create a contrast with the armour.
What are future plans--a squad or two, or a whole army?
Rogal Dorn - January 30, 2008 01:23 AM (GMT)
how were the aquilas on head, legs and such made?
Kharn - January 30, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)
Wow, that is truly beautiful!
Itsme - January 30, 2008 07:19 AM (GMT)
Thank you all for the nice feedback.
But it seems some of you missunderstand me.
The model itself isn't from me.
I bought it. The figures are waiting for their paintjob since one year or longer.
They were available from a webside which is meanwhile shut down by GW.
But I have enough parts to build a Terminator Squad and a Power Armour Squad.
Each with 5 members.
To the moderators.

Wow I actually really like the model, and especially the paintjob. I think the face is good as being that kind of pallor; it makes him look like he barely ever sees the light of day, and that makes sense. What with being a guard of the emperor, sitting around in the palace alot...
BTW I couldve sworn the HH artbooks werent in production anymore, right?
Amendera - January 31, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
We bought the big hardback HH artbook that compiled the smaller ones at a local game store back in October, I believe. Since then we have seen the smaller HH artbooks at a different store. Both these stores, however, are known to have older & OOP items that have sat on the shelves for years.

I thought they were called Cingulums?
VESPASIAN - February 4, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
The cingulum militare was the military belt which was worn by the Roman Legionary, and it was very much a symbol of his status. However the term cingulum is seldom present in the Roman literary sources prior to the 3rd century AD. Subsequently, due to its prevelance in Papyri and literary sources prior to this date, the word balteus is considered the more correct terminology for the belt.
The terminals which hang from the belt, in modern parlance, are called an 'apron' amongst other things by modern ancient historians. If the Romans did ever have a term for them then it has unfortunately been lost in the fragmentary literary sources of the period.
The pteryges were protective strips which formed a skirt-like layer from the waist downwards and around the upper parts of the arms. These were attached to a padded undergarment called a thoracomachus, which was worn underneath armour.
I have to say therefore, given the above details, that Mithras is correct when he calls them pteryges.
Kaleb 'Angelus' Dante - February 4, 2008 06:12 PM (GMT)
Fair enough i stand corrected. I just learnt something new today! Just out of interest VESPASIAN where do you get your info? I'm a sucker for Roman history.
VESPASIAN - February 4, 2008 06:19 PM (GMT)
I have a degree in Ancient and Medieval History, and spent a year studying the Roman Army in depth (for which I got a first). I also wrote my dissertation on the Roman Armies in the Civil War of 69 A.D. Guess I just love Roman military history........oh and Pre-Heresy stuff of course! :D If you'd like the names of some books that I'd recommend to read, then just PM me.
Welcome to the forum by the way! Good to have you here. :)
