Hi there,
so i registred for a local tourney, it will be my first tourney in 1 year and the first without my ultras since 2002 (played Deathguard at that time)
As my ultras are pretty much all stored currently, i got left the WE battle-ready (PH Salamanders are still under construction)
i'll use the BA codex and here the first draft of the army list:
HQ
Captain Skarr (count as Dante)
Honour Guard:
-2 Power weapon
-Company Champion
-Blood angel Chapter Standard
-Jump Packs
ELITE:
Death Company
-5 marines
-Jump Packs
Veteran Squad:
-10 marines
-Jump Packs
-2 flamers
-Lightening Claws
TROOP:
Assault Squad:
-power weapon
-meltabomb
-Rhino, dozer blade and armour
Assault Squad:
-power weapon
-meltabomb
-Rhino, dozer blade and armour
tactical Squad:
-plasmagun
-missile launcher
-Drop pod
FAST ATTACK:
Bikes:
-3 bikes
-2 meltaguns
-meltas bombs
This is a Full Assault army with the only purpose to reach the ennemy fast and furious.
The main punch is given by Skarr, Honour Guard and Death company, the small visous one is the Veteran Squad. troops and objectives. and bikes are the tank hunters
The tourney is this saturday, unfortunatly i do not have the time to play test the list, so i turn on your wise comments and critics...
Cheers
J
I think with this list the key will be to keep the initiative, force your opponent react to what you do.
The list looks as though it will be highly manoeuvrable, which should allow you to pick when and where you fight.
It may be best to concentrate all of your hard hitting units on one flank and have them roll along the enemy battle line.
Or deploy slightly dispersed and then hit them in one spot with a concentrated effort.
If you come up against Guard I'd suggest targeting their chain of command as quickly as possible, in order to reduce their "order" issuing.
Hope this helps or at least gives you some food for thought.
Good luck in the tourney.
Thanks Yvraith,
Mostly what i was thinking about the list.
I expect a large lot of marines players (Chaos/SM), then orks, eldars and IG
The combat Squad will also allow me to play the "dark elves too many small units" style
not sure about the bike unit though, maybe too small to be a real menace
anyway, i intend to strike fast and hard in the second turn.
i'm reading again the rulebook cover to cover so i won't be suprised by rules or anything as my last game in 5th was for the release night event.
but i shouldn't have opened the Chaos dex this evening, the idea of 2*10 berzerkers in Land raiders just feel butchery to my ears...
