Title: Imperial Army Assault Squads
Description: Ideas? Canon?

I've been perusing the AOTE HH codex, and as I've mentioned elsewhere I'm impressed with the option for IG Veterans to take jump packs! A real good link back to the days of 2nd edition Epic when the IG had the twin-pistol Assault troops...

I'm thinking I can bring them up-to-date (!) for the pre-Heresy era by using the Elysian minis from FW and the lovely resin jump packs from MaxMini:

Alternatively, I have a butt-load of Drop Pod engine vents which I could use to make something suitably Rocketeer...

Comments? I've not really seen the jump packs up close but I know lots of you have them. What sort of size-match would they be for Elysians?

They might be a bit big, since Elysian minis are a bit smaller then the normal GW Mini.

Aww shoot... anyone have size comparison pics?

Don't the Elysian minis have grav-chutes? They might be able to double for jump packs.

Alternatively you could strip down the current plastic jump pack--perhaps just use one of the engines.

Grav Chutes are a strange shape... a bit steampunk, if you add Drop Pod engine vents as 'rotors' to the top. That might work, actually... it's not quite the shape I had in mind, but still... hmmm...

Something like this with smaller rotors?

Or something more Minority Report?

What about cutting the Maxmini jumppack in two, using only a single turbine for each squadmember? Kind of like those jumppacks from some of that pre-heresy death guard artwork!

Here's a comparison pic between an Elysian and a Termie: LINKY.
