Description: Did they have any?

EDIT: Could someone please move this to the Q&A forum instead of the member articles? I clicked the Member Articles instead of Q&A. Lol, sorry for the hassle. :P
Hey all.
My question for you all today is did the Death Guard have any rivals in any of the other legions? My local hobby shop has just three, or four Astartes in the Pre-Heresy genre, and I want to create an army so that when the DG are completed, I can have a rival legion to battle the DG.
Thanks in advance.

Well... Mortarion was one of the Primarchs who testified against Magnus, but that isn't overly useful since they both went Traitor. Erm... I could see them having some type of rivalry develop with the... Salamanders maybe? KInd of the competition amongst similar roles like the Imperial Fists and Iron Warriors. Though I don't see it getting as heated as that, their dual roles as infantry sloggers and dutiful soldiers makes them have that potential. Could also add some drama to Istvaan a la Ferrus Manus and Fulgrim, if Mortarion and Vulkan had a tight relationship or maybe a hateful one. Just a couple thoughts. With little to no fluff so far about the two really, who knows what will develop.

Thanks Benedict! That might be what I do, having Vulkan be on friendly terms with Morty, then when Morty betrays....Again, thanks for the help!

What stage?
Traditionally Nurgle and Tzeentch are enemies because Nurgle wants everything to rot in stasis, whereas Tzeentch is always meddling with change.
This is another tally mark against Magnus :)

Preferably Great Crusade/early Heresy.
Thanks for the tally with Magnus, though!
