Title: Unification Wars era Country names

Iron Corsair - July 23, 2009 08:17 PM (GMT)
Hey all,

What were the names of some of the countries/Continents during and after the Unification Wars eras? For example, Merica, Aegyptus (I think that's how they spell it.)) etc.

What do you guys think they would call Germany? How about France?

Thanks in advance,
Corsair

I'm sure this was covered at some time previously... but off the top of my head, we have seen:

Franc
Jermani
Sud/Nord Afrik Conclaves
Albion
Nord/Sud Merica
Brasil
Tali
The Gangetic Plain
Himalayzia

I'm sure there have been others, and excuse and non-sic spelling errors.

Wasn't New York called Nova Yeurk during this era?

lord_caldera - July 24, 2009 01:11 AM (GMT)
Yes, they discussed it in one of the Ragnar novels. I think they mentioned several areas in that one but I don't have mine on hand.

Thanks, guys!

@Shroud: That gives me a pretty comprehensive list, thanks!

@Gagoc and Lord Caldera: Thanks for Nova Yeuk. That's going to be useful.

I don't think it's canon, but years ago during a Tyranids launch campaign they named what I guess could be the "hives of Albion":

Highland (central Scotland)
Nova Castille
Foundry Primus (Leeds/Manchester/Liverpool)
Brumman
Londinium
The Southern Bastions (Southampton/Bournemouth etc)

Vredesbyrd - July 25, 2009 01:02 PM (GMT)
Well my money's on Nova Castille being Newcastle-upon-Tyne for some reason...

I know its Unification, but can you imagine Geordies IN SPACE?

Iron Corsair - July 25, 2009 02:12 PM (GMT)
Thanks for new list, Shroud!

Nova Castille. That does sounds like New Castle. LOL

Gagoc TheAncient - July 25, 2009 11:27 PM (GMT)
Foundry Primus: Leeds, Manchester & Liverpool!?
Where's Sheffield, the Steel Capital of the World, The Steel City.

You'd think a foundry with the word Primus in front of it would include such a major industrial/research centre. And it's not that far from Leeds.

ShroudFilm - July 26, 2009 10:46 PM (GMT)
It covered a large part of the map... I guess it was meant to include "all the northern cities"...?

Nova Castille made me chuckle for ages at the time!

Iron Corsair - July 27, 2009 05:35 PM (GMT)
@Gagoc the Ancient: Those cities would make sense for Foundry Primus. Thanks for that! The Steel City also sounds good. Thanks for that, as well!

@Shroud: Perhaps, that is the case. Or maybe, it was meant to include all of the major northern cities?

All in all, thanks for the help guys. This is going to help me flesh out the background for my two PH Squad contest entries. Thanks again!
