Emperor's Castellans
23rd Great Company Imperial Fist Legion
Talking to some friends online several of us thought a Pre-Hersey Legion gamers X project would be cool specially if we did random legions. so with that idea in motion I ended up with Imperial Fists.
(The project has been stalled but I have moved on with my fists project anyway) While normally I would rather slaughter Dorn's forces with my Night Lords this gives me an opportunity to work on the enemy to my forces and maybe even give them a face to the dead corpses they are. so with that I have to figure out how I wish my Fists to look at the time before the hersey as well as who leads them and so on. I'm thinking of using the collected visions of the Horus Hersey book as much as possible to bring this force to life. so now I have to figure out my 2000 point army list and figure out what I'm spending my $50 dollars on this month. I plan on blogging my purchases and painting them before heading to the next purchase. should be fun a Now I just need figure out what else I want in my Emperor's Castellans the 23rd Great Company of the Imperial Fists Legion. I've decided to add a Fell Blade to this project as I have a bane Blade kit thats been sitting around since last august when i attended GDLA.

Can't wait to see this project progress. There have been several squads and talks of the Imperial Fist legion, but I've never seen a full and outfitted Company or Chapter. Needless to say I'm excited to see where this goes.
Here's an example of an Imperial Fist grenadier I did for an online competition (turned him in too late...)

Hope to see updates soon!

Okay so after removing six aquillas, I have come to a cross road of sorts on my fell Blade project. as you can see in the picture

I removed several of the bolts from the plates while removing the aquillas. now it wouldn't be hard to us a gs mold made out of a bit of sprue to replace them I got to looking at my rhinos and land raider and wondered if I removed the remaining bolts if it wouldn't streamline the Bane Blade kit and making it look more like the other space marine tanks. I'm gonna give it some thought over the evening and see what you all think also. Next up will be to finish preping the kit removing flash and getting some rough sketches drawn of the replacement icons that will be gs'd onto the Fell Blade.

Hi HelChyld,
I removed the aquillas from my Fellblade too!

I may go back one day and make a proper Fellblade turret which is rounded.
Good luck mate.

Thats just so friggin awesome that I just almost started mashing the keyboard like a deranged orangeutan!
Is there any other notable way the a fellblade differs from a baneblade, other than it having a cooler name?

Based on the artwork for the Khatek and The Imperial Reaper Fellblades:
They both have the obvious domed main turret,
Tracks like the RT Land Raider including little cover for them on top,
And Khatek appears to have Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter turrets in place of the Baneblades Lascannon turrets on top of the sponsons.
