do luna wolves have a chaplain???

Yvraith - August 2, 2009 09:03 AM (GMT)
There isn't one mentioned in the novel's.

The only one I know of is Chaplain Erebus, and he is actually a Word Bearer, not a Luna Wolf.

In the novels the Mournival do most of the Chaplaincy's duty.
Except maybe the anti-sorcery and anti-faith duties.

So high up in the Legion there's only Erebus. But down in the Legions less highly ranked companies there may be one or two.

We've only had a grand total of 2 Chaplains (Erebus and Charmosian) present so far, but that doesn't mean they are absent in other legions. As Warmaster, I'm sure Horus would lead by example. Just remember the legions were huge (10k) and we don't even know the names of all the captains.

Equally, we've only had (2?) Apothecaries named and they're rather integral to the system!

Space Wolves and Blood Angels both have canonical Chaplains named in the artwork.

All legions were supposed to have them - read the fluff text from the art books/CCG chase cards.

ok thanks alot, but with the list i made i dont have the hq slot, maybe ill buy one just to paint up

Also remember that if you're including a chaplain then you're limiting the time frame of your force to post-Nikea. If its a Luna Wolves force as well then thats limiting it still further regarding the name change!

I know theres no reason you can't include a chaplain, but to me it doesn't fit the character of the legion you're reading about in Horus Rising, of exponents of the Imperial truth and perhaps the most pragmatic example of Astartes we've ever read about.

Whitehorn - August 3, 2009 08:35 AM (GMT)
Why would Chaplains only be post-Nikea? They were present doing what chaplains do, minus the extra task of policing psychers.

Hold the phone, when you guys say all the legions had chaplains (I have read that too in the artbooks), does that mean that the Thousand Sons had chaplains????

I mean they would have to by the Nikkean Edict, but still it would be terribly awkward for those 5-10 guys trying to police a whole legion that's committing treason like there's no tomorrow.

Chaplain No'One Likesyou: Hey, ummm Phosis T'Kar, can you not do that lightning blast? It's, you know, illegal.

Phosis T'Kar: Hey Chaplain No'One Likesyou, get out of here!

Chaplain No'One Likesyou: Yeah, OK gottit, sorry about that...

Whitehorn - August 3, 2009 09:38 AM (GMT)
The Thousand Sons went back home and continued to practice Sorcery in secret.

ShroudFilm - August 3, 2009 09:48 AM (GMT)
The definition of loneliness: being a Thousand Sons Chaplain post-Nikaea.
