hi all i was wondering if anyone new what other legions fought with (as allies) the space wolves during the great crusade. i know that they fought with the dark angels and thousand sons but had arguements with them. i wanted to have a small strike force of another legion in my army and just wanted some help

a small force of blood claws lead by brynngar fought with both the ultramarines and the world eaters aswell as the thousand sons againts the word bearers in the HH book 'battle for the abyss'

ahh forgot bout that one... but i was looking for something that fought with the main army... i am getting the oden knight mini from iacton and was planing on doing a large army not just a strike force... also did the emperor ever fight with them?

The Space Wolves were great allies with the White Scars. The Khan regretfully had to leave them alone agains the Alpha Legion when they were recalled to defend the Imperial Palace. They did not like leaving their brothers in the Space Wolf legion.

I think the White Scars and the Space Wolves have a lot in common as they are both brom barbaric and tribal warrior planets.

I'd say you can justify putting any legion you like with the SW, except maybe the Word Bearers or Thousand Sons, since the SW hated sorcery.

There seemed to be a certain amount of mutual respect between the Space Wolves and World Eaters in Battle for the Abyss - they definately share a similar set of attributes, seem to have a similar approach to battle etc.

I think probably the most appropriate Legion would be the Dark Angels... the two Legions 'were repeatedly deployed in joint actions' by Horus in order that their rivalry would spur them on to greater feats. The White Scars would be another good option as well - certainly they fought together at various points during the Heresy.
