NeDlol - September 1, 2009 01:04 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, while its not a PH entry, I hope you'll forgive me for posting it here. He is in a mk2/6 hybrid artificer suit anyway wich is my nod to the PH comunity.
Here is the unpainted model

Here is a brief update of what I've done

Big thanks to Iacton for hosting my WIP :) Should have a few more pics for you when I've managed to track down a camera.

Hero of Istvaan - September 1, 2009 03:30 PM (GMT)
Am i right in thinking that it started life as the FW showcase Marine??
Shang - September 1, 2009 08:59 PM (GMT)
He looks awsome but is he wearing sandals :P
NeDlol - September 1, 2009 09:25 PM (GMT)
Thanks guys
Yes it started out as a FW showcase marine.
It was sculpted for me by Giganticdark from CMON.
No he's not in sandals.
And yes, thats metallic paint. ;)
ShroudFilm - September 1, 2009 09:41 PM (GMT)
Aww, I liked the idea of sandals... even if I flinched when I imagined an Ork stepping on his toes! :D
Kriegersen - September 2, 2009 12:54 AM (GMT)
I am in amazement, that is a wovly model
Kharn - September 2, 2009 07:10 PM (GMT)
Really amazing! I can't wait to see it painted!!
Magos Explorator - September 2, 2009 09:25 PM (GMT)
Pacific - September 2, 2009 09:41 PM (GMT)
Well, thats amazing!
I guess if you were to say anything about Sandals then you would also have to say what is worse? every other GW space marine that has the most vulnerable part of the body unprotected with marines without helmets, or this guy who runs the chance of an orc stepping on his toes? Or perhaps even worse, running into an enemy with a chainboot? :P
Sotirios - September 3, 2009 01:56 PM (GMT)
Its really beautiful... I especially like the "Lamda" sign and the ancient Greek crest...I am Greek, that explains it all I guess :) ...
NeDlol - September 8, 2009 05:53 PM (GMT)
Well I'm back from Prague but I've got swineflu... My entry is at my LGS so I doubt I'll be able to get it finished in time. Oh well there's always next year right? :)
ShroudFilm - September 8, 2009 06:04 PM (GMT)
Oh duuuude... that's unfortunate! Should have stayed away from the unpasteurised lagers, eh? ;)
Get well soon!
NeDlol - September 8, 2009 06:12 PM (GMT)
I think its because of the 90% recycled air you get on planes these days, oh well atleast I didn't feel rough in Prague, but then again that would of been the boobs and beer keeping me all happy :P
Iacton - September 8, 2009 07:17 PM (GMT)
That sucks royally....
Are you still attending GD though? I am guessing that Gigantic is taking his bad boy along...?
BigWill - September 8, 2009 08:38 PM (GMT)
I think Nedlol is the first of us to come down with that SH$%
I would bet my bottom dollar it was from the dirty plane.
And you know the guy who gave it to you felt sick before he went on the plane but the ASS just had to travel anyway.
Sometimes I just Hate people
If Swineflu was something really deadly ,Nurgle would claim the Earth in no time at all due to modern travel.
It is not if but When.....
rant aside, that Marine is pure Win I hope to see it on the GW page soon
Iacton - September 8, 2009 09:05 PM (GMT)
[thread hijack alert] My wife had the swine plague shortly after we returned from holiday in Mexico. Ironically she caught it from her friend's little girl... 5 days in bed, feeling pretty grotty but nothing more severe, thankfully[/thread hijack alert] (sorry)
ShroudFilm - September 8, 2009 09:09 PM (GMT)
I thought I had it a few weeks ago... turned out it was gastroenteritis, or "stomach flu". Still wasn't pretty - I didn't know I could poop that much and not go 2-dimensional.
BigWill - September 8, 2009 09:16 PM (GMT)
The crazy side of my brain has me thinking this is all hype so everone lines up demanding shots which have RFID chips in them so "the Man" can keep tabs on us all
It is funny how the news hypes this all up, by all accounts it is just like a normal flu which people do die from too.
They say things like twice as many people will DIE!!!!
well of course if there are two flus going around then twice as many people get it and yes twice as many people die.
I wonder why the media would hype this so?
I wonder if Ted Turner, and the other media moguls have any stakes in pharmaceutical companies?
I bet they do.
NeDlol - September 8, 2009 11:33 PM (GMT)
Well with recycled air on planes there days I'm supprised that I was the only one out of the 4 of us that went that ended up with it.
Oh well its an experience that all I can say, nothing quite like having to rush to the toilet about 15 times a day and not being too sure what end its going to come out of until I get there :/
Yeah Scott I'm still gonna go I've got plenty of time to get over this nasty s**t, just gonna keep taking tamiflu and paracetemol until I feel well enough to get out and about. It'd be great to meet up with you and the others and maybe go for a pint.
I think Giganticdark is taking his big'un to the event, I just wish him the best of luck with it :)
Will, by any chance do you have a tinfoil hat? :P
Iacton - September 9, 2009 12:20 PM (GMT)
He keeps it next to the hatch to his nuclear bunker ;)
Fortunately (?) here in the UK we get tablets and are sent to bed most of the time if we get ill, rather than stick a needle in at the slightest sign of a sniffle :D
