I think he's talking about the guy riding the wolf in the last photo..
I know 40k is a fantasy universe, but you'd think they'd put a little credence into real life facts - facts like physics. Like how the [I'M ILLITERATE] does the guy steer the wolf? why does it even have reins? He'd have to ride along with his arms permanently pointing in the air to stop himself impaling the blades on the beast (I could go on....)
IMO this is up there with the possessed chaos marines and Nagash, comedy lord of the undead, for worst model.

Awww, that's a shame...

I'm not sure if I'm high right now, but I believe that Space Marine is riding a GIANT FREAKIN' WOLF!!!!
When did Games Workshop start making absolutely incredible, unreal and totally badass models???What's next? Sicarsus riding the Cloverfield monster?
I'm pretty relieved actually, I was afraid these models might turn out badly, but they actually look really cool. I'm even warming up to the mohawk. The way I see it, it's like the guy from Mercenaries, which makes it totally awesome!
I'm seeing quite a few conversion possibilities already. Pretty soon it looks like you'll be able to make a whole Space Marine Company with separate heads, helmets and armor. I'm really liking the individuality!

I think 10 of those Wolfguard are going in my Space Hulk box. ;)
And the Wolf Riders left arm is Perfect for a Bjorn conversion.

the pictures on the link have all gone :(

I guess the line seperating bad-ass from dumb-ass is a shade of grey ^_^
Whitehorn - September 7, 2009 08:37 AM (GMT)
I figured they'd get removed, so:
http://fulgrim.com/tamworth-wargames/viewt...php?f=57&t=2988Yes, the wolf is a big bucket of silly.

I'd have said a big bucket of something else but there we go :P

As just mentioned on another forum, to qualify the last statement...
Compare and contrast...

Expect him to break into a song about the snowy lands of Fenris at any moment with a load of cutaway shots of him hand raising the wolf pup from an orphan and going on their 1st hunt together....
Yvraith - September 7, 2009 10:54 AM (GMT)
Shame the wolf looks like it's prancing.

for some reason it reminds me of this pic I took a few years back of a brown bear.

Only really like the terminators though.
And getting tired of the lightning claw obsesion that seems forever tied to the SW's.
Ok we get that they are little Wolverines.
Move on.
Kharn - September 7, 2009 04:47 PM (GMT)
I remember in a White Dwarf a while back, someone had done a conversion for some SoB riding polar bears. This model knocks that out of the park
Mortarion - September 7, 2009 05:10 PM (GMT)
Like the marines and terminators, that guy on the wolf is a poor effort though, it just looks retarded...
BigWill - September 7, 2009 05:38 PM (GMT)
I am telling you take away the wolf he is perfect for Bjorn
lord_caldera - September 7, 2009 06:28 PM (GMT)
Most of these look pretty awesome. I personally think they did as good a job as they could have on the wolf, but why lightning claws? That's the most ridiculous set of weapons to put on a cavalry model, he should at least have an axe with a long haft so he can reach the people he's fighting. And not kill his mount. The lightning claws that GW seems to have an unhealthy obsession for on power armor these days all look too big and round and goofy to me.
Mortarion - September 7, 2009 06:29 PM (GMT)
true, but, money on they make doing that really difficult by making it one huge lump of white metal.
Fulgrim - September 7, 2009 07:32 PM (GMT)
Finally GW has gone over board on the Wolf and then some. I feel sorry for them, and us gamers. We're having 'these guys are wolfy' rammed down our throats. <_<
