Like the title says (Although not all at the same time) :D
After my last game against DA's (admittedly I made some stupid mistakes which turned out to crucial) in which for the first time ever I was wiped out to a man.
3 Dreads, 2 Deathwing Squads, Belial, an Interogator Chappy, 5 Sternguard, 5 Vanguard, 2 nearly full strength Ravenwing squads (No Land Speeders)
Is what my opponent took.
I've decided to up the ante a little, so I played around with a couple of lists at work today.
Next session there will be 3 games each. against each opponent.
I've not fought the new guard yet, but from what I can gather so far is too attack their
command structure (just like in 2nd ed.)
Here's the more aggressive of the 2 lists that I beat out.
HQ - Mournival Captain Syrakul (Capt. Sicarius)
Command Squad with Coy. Standard, Coy Champ. & 2 Power Wpns.
HQ - Captain "Falkus Kibre", Termi Armour, Pair of L. Claws.
T1 - Tactical Squad (10), Meltagun, Power Fist & Rhino
T2 - Tactical Squad (10), Plasmagun & Multi-Melta
T3 - Scout Squad (5), Camo Cloaks, Sniper Rifles & Sgt Barabas (Telion)
E1 - Dreadnought, Multi-Melta, Extra Armour in Drop Pod with Locator Beacon
E2 - Dread, T.L Autocannon (or Plasma etc.), Ext. Armour, D.Pod with Loc. Beacon.
E3 - Terminator Assault Squad (5), Led by Falkus, DT Land Raider
F1 - Land Speeder, Multi-Melta
F2 - Land Speeder, Multi-Melta
Total Points - 1995
The Plan is to go aggressive right from the start.
Drop pod assault in one of the Dreads, using the Locator Beacons to Deep Strike in the Land Speeders and other Drop Pod accurately.
Then Push up the middle with Falkus & the Termis & possibly the Rhino mounted Tactical Squad if required.
While Syrakul with his Command Sqd and the other Tact Sqd hold the line.
Any thoughts, comments or smart remarks? :D
