Title: Ultramarines and Alpha Legion

Hey guys, I'm looking for as much information as you have on joint activities or crusade fleets between the Alpha Legion and the Ultramarines, as well as a relative time when the two primarchs had their disagreement. Also I'm looking for information on captains of the two Legions, again if they were in the same fleet or operation but anything really would be great.

Don't you mean (2)Primarchs of the Alpha legion? ;)
Some of the Captains of the Alpha's are mentioned
in the HH novel Legion. :)

I think it unlikely that the AL and Ultras ever worked together to be honest. The AL were the last Legion created, and worked alone for the most part. Certainly it is possible they worked with the Luna Wolves (indeed Horus and Alpharius seem to have ben close, according to the Index Astartes at least) but there is little to suggest they worked closely with any other Legions, particularly given the tactics of the AL were far more suited to working alone rather than with another Legion whose more 'straightforward' tactics would have compromised the Alpha Legion's meticulous planning. Certainly it seems Alpharius did not meet Guilliman until late on during the Crusade (further supporting the conclusion their Legions did not campaign together) and they almost immediately fell into disagreement:
QUOTE
Alpharius did not seek glory or honours for himself, and rarely attended victory celebrations. Consequently, he never spent much time with the other Primarch's and it was many years before he met all of them. His first encounter with Roboute Guilliman of the Ultramarines was reputedly strained....  He [Guilliman] was in the process of documenting the 'correct' tactics and operation of a Space Marine force, tried and tested during his long years of command, and suggested that the young Alpha Legion should adopt this 'codex' behaviour... a heated debate over tactics and ideology ensued.

Their disagreement was further soured following the AL campaign on Tesstra Prime, which Guilliman openly criticised. This was close to the beginning of the Heresy (investigation of the AL tactics was pushed aside by concern over the Night Lords attrocities, so it must have been shortly before Horus went traitor).

As for Legion personel, Ingo Pech was the 1st Captain, Mathias Herzog was Captain of the 2nd Company, and Sheed Ranko was Captain of the Lernaean Terminator Squad. All feature in Legion.
