Hey people, this may be in the wrong place but its just a quick question and it is about painting and modling ;)

for impirial army it is ok just to use standard cadians isnt it?
after all, the only real difference between guard and the impirial army is that the imperial army's main job is to aid the space marines rather than be an independant force, not that they arn't perfectly capable of being an independant force :)

I only ask as I do like the standard cadians and think with a bit of a de-eagle on them they would be perfect ;)

Its fine- I can't be sure, but I think Cadia existed during the Great Crusade, and provided regiments for the Imperial Army.

If you don't intend for your army to be Cadians, then there isn't anything in the fluff talking about armour types used by the Imperial Army. I think in the Collected Visions book there's a picture of Malcador's Chosen- elite IA Soldiers wearing what looks a lot like Cadian body armour.

And hey- it's your army.

I'm starting a praetorian army, using Cadian bodies with Wargames Factory British Zulu heads. Hopefully it'll look suitably pre-heresy.

De-badged Cadians are fine for PH IA... there are several pieces of HH artwork showing just that!
