welll he sed hed trained him self to do something a computer does in a casino to predict a rulete wheel.
so hhe hypnotised some one, and took 5000 quid of that persons with out them knowing and then told them on the night and used it in the casino.
he bet on 8, it landed on 30. the number next to it :P

I'd hardly describe it as an "epic fail" - managing to get the number next to the one it landed in seems pretty impressive to me... And he also managed to predict the "ball randomly thrown in a squash court" and car speeds pretty well too.
I saw Derren Brown live on his Enigma tour when he visited Bournemouth, and regardless of whether or not he can actually do these things for real (I think I'll always have a smidge of skepticism until he does something with me or someone I know and trust, regardless of how much I want it to be real), I think its fairly undeniable that he's a rediculously clever bloke that knows how to put on quite a show.
The guy whose 5k was used was told at the end they'd refund him, so no-one lost out by it going wrong.
