Title: EC - Test scheme

Johnny_Hawkwind - October 11, 2009 09:09 AM (GMT)
Managed to put some paint on a model to see what my scheme looked like.

The fear of painting white turned me from WE to EC, plus I had just finished reading Fulgrim.

Unsure as to the plan for the bases and whether to paint the chapter symbol or make a mould for a 3d one.

I wish I hadn't been so lazy removing mould lines but too late now.

Looks good to me. What's your recipe for the purple? Warlock Purple with washes?

Johnny_Hawkwind - October 11, 2009 12:59 PM (GMT)
50/50 Warlock and Liche with Leviathan Purple wash. I am a lazy painter it has to be said.

If you're doing 50-50 mixes, you are less lazy than me! :D

Looks good, man - nice warm colour.

So, any suggestions for the base theme. I was debating something around the Laer campaign but again can be a tad lazy.

Yeah, think it's a bit much though. Worried that nothing I have painted since matches the same colours though. Anyone got a good way of stripping plastics.

Lord_Mortirion - October 11, 2009 04:56 PM (GMT)
nail polish remover and a toothbrush. dont leave them soaking over night tho, coz it corrodes the plastic a tad around the joins... tho it makes skellies look better lol...

dump em in the remover (compleatly submerged) for about 30 mins to an hour, and the paint will come right off...

oh and love the purple by the way...

That Fairy Liquid stain remover is apparently the best way to strip plastic - no corrosion at all, very little work.

Laer campaign - how would that look? I can't recall the exact details from Fulgrim.

I think you mean Fairy Power Spray Shroud.

As for the laer Campaign, think pink Mother of Pearl or ocean floor combat amongst ancient, drowned ruins.

I happen to use this.

Strips meatel or plastic with out a problem. no corrosion at all, and it'll even break down super glue and you can clean it off with little work.

Only thing is it may have to sit in and soak for a day or two.
