Hey guys,until now I've only been
painting ramdom mini's just to paint, :)
but haven't focused my attention on
a 30k army, :) and I need some help... :unsure:
So I have attached this poll for advise. :D

Gotta be Dark Angels.

They were the first, the greatest.

And they have awesome modelling opportunities through background, diversified allegiances and generally exude coolness!


But I would say that as a long standing Dark Angel player.



Overall I'd say look at each legion in the following ways:

1. What colours you like/dislike painting.

2. What background hooks you particularly like.

3. Anything that grabs your interest in a specific legion etc.

I voted for Fists as i really like seeing in their pre-heresy version but i would actually vote for Raven Guard if it was up there.I think i only ever saw one guy do pre-heresy RG...

Actually Raven guard is up there but they only
let me have that many, <_< (I was going to put each Legion...)So Ultras etc means any of the ones like say Raven gurd or Luna wolves or Sallies. :)

Night Lords might be interesting to play for me
and not much has changed with them,plus I like the idea of incorperating the
Misfits (Die,Die my darling!(bangs head))old and new members into the army..
(Hmmm...)Wonder how to make Danzig into a mini.... :)
Which ever the army, I'm sure it'll be a good one and suprise the heck out of my CDA Idahoan 40kers....

but the lack of fluff makes it a bit though to build. otherwise anything is fun in 30k ;)

Ah the perennial question!

I would have a long and hard think about which legion you like the sound of the most (which one excites you?!), ideas you have for painting and modelling etc.

I certainly think the traitor legions are easiest, simply because you can instantly differentiate your army as being 30k - with a lot of the loyalist legions its a lot less apparent. Having said that, I can imagine the Night Lords looking quite similar in style to how they do now (although I guess back then the horns were only painted on!)

Nicola from my local GW said to imagine who you would most like to spend a night in the pub with.

Ugh... imagine getting Fulgrim and Sanguinius drunk... they'd drag you into the back room and take your innocence away... :(

Or Mortarion. Jeez, that guy drinks literally everybody under the table... <_<
I think people have given some good suggestions so I have nothing else to add than a lame joke. :)

I voted Night Lords, but if you went drinking with Curze he might decide he needed your skin for something...

Actually from all the painting I've done I could actually do any,
none of them wouldn't be that hard to paint(I already made a good Curze model
if I do go Night Lords)So any would work. :)

The other reason I need a good one to play a 30k game is to represent
you guys so gamers up here will end up asking where I got some of the ideas...
Plus there is nobody up here to play a Pre-heresy army along side.. :(

The Night Lords sounds interesting
as I have a good Curze model I made myself
Plus I have made the majority of the
HQ models.
However each of the Legions I have started on.
Plus the 40k stuff of the Imperials (All the current SW,DA,
and Ultras,most of the BA both Sallies,the new Khan model,plus the forces of chaos
(I have 2 bookcases FULL of mini's,)so the idea of re vamping most of them into a workable Legion to play with is sweet to me!Plus I have stuff I haven't even painted,
(Including a Baneblade!) :( :)
(I have way too much time on my hands....)
And @Feytor it says Ultras...etc, ;) (That includes Death guard..)
That means all the rest of the legions
(I was trying to go down the list but the poll only let me have that many so I said Ultras etc...)
