I never took Zso Sahaal as claiming to be behind the creation of Jump-pack Assault Marines.
I always understood it as him saying he was responsible for the 'Raptor' formation/unit-type of jump-pack assault marines.

I wonder who's right?

ShroudFilm - October 14, 2009 01:11 AM (GMT)
Don't say that to Aaron or he'll swear at you.

Funny stuff! Very chucklesome :D

So, guessing it's a Wordbearers concept? (No need to say that you can't say, Shroud ;) )

I actually liked Lord of night....I wish they would write a Night lord HH book,
and clear alot of the confusion up with them and not just have the Dark king as the only story for them, however there is quite alot of different legions they could easily write about(specially their Legion personel,) .As well as other branches of the Imperium that they haven't covered.I agree with Aaron it does indeed sound like the Warmaster is speeding to the siege but come on there is alot of stuff to add on to flesh out the Horus Heresy. It wasn't just Both Istavaans and the
Siege that made up the Horus Heresy,There was more to it...Heck they could even do a Titan book...! :)

I thought that the Night Lords story on the audio book took place LONG before the Heresy... like 50 or 100 years before...

Its a difficult one to place. The Night Lords Index Astartes article gives a date for the pacification of the Cherault system, at 7232826.M29. The Night Lords went on something of a rampage following the destruction of Nostromo, which eventually led to Night Haunter being called to Terra to face a full investigation of his Legions methoods just prior to the Heresy. Which suggests it can't have been much before the outbreak of the Heresy that Curze went AWOL - Imperial justice might be slow, but it can't be that slow. It certainly would surprise me if it was 100 years, given the entire Great Crusade only lasted 200.

I thought the beginning of the Night Lord's rampage was the destruction of Nostromo after the Night Haunter had been called back to Terra.

See? He's right! It's a shitstorm of conflicting stories and edits of edits of re-edits concerning the poor bastards. Smart guy this Aaron. Entertaining as well. I might just have to track down his stuff, see if it measures up.

it was four years before the outbreak. (this is from what ive read at least) will try and find out where it is in the fluff and post it. Istvan happened right before he was supose to return to terra, so he was rerouted there instead. He was not officially an outcast at the time by imperial standards he was just awol.

QUOTE (Fingol23 @ Oct 18 2009, 07:02 PM)
I thought the beginning of the Night Lord's rampage was the destruction of Nostromo after the Night Haunter had been called back to Terra.

Going by The Dark King, he went AWOL following his attack on Dorn at Cherault. He was placed under guard immediately afterwards, then escaped and headed straight to Nostromo.

He was recalled to Terra to face an enquiry into his methoods an unspecified amount of time after that, just prior to the outbreak of the Heresy. He ignored the order, however, and when the Heresy broke out his Legion was ordered to Istvaan V instead.
