BUT according to his Bartertown feedback, he is very reliable.
As far as the product on the picture, the quaility isn't perfect, but i have yet to see the final product...

Let me know how those pads work out!
I like the look of a lot of their stuff but wonder how GW feels about it--a lot more blatantly GW-based ideas than other companies like MaxMini.

Well that just means we have to buy the stuff before GW sends their legal gorillas after him. :P
The stuff seems very interesting, and the quality isn't half as bad IMO. I might have a try at ordering some.

He apparently has his legal ducks in a row. And has been selling for a good while now. He has mentioned that he has spoken with GW, and legally they can not touch him for what he makes.
Good on him. (not a customer, just I like this sort of thing. Small scale conversion kits and the like.)

Bandwidth limits?! What is this, 1996?

Maybe GW IP bombed him :)

Yeah, not bad stuff from the pics! I can't wait to see som TGC members' pics.
rabblerouser - October 18, 2009 11:35 PM (GMT)
Okay i see the site now. GW doesn't feel this infringes on their intellectual property?

they swing the Bann Hammer....i hear it from here...look away before the hammer strikes... :o
GW USA is a little more friendly but as soon as they get the order to hammer them to the ground....the lawyers are on their way.... :(
It really is a shame because these Panels for the Droppod....damn that looks soo cool...and these Storm shields...
They should hire these two for Forgeworld...

If they get an Agreement then yes....otherwise he uses copyrighted Legion names and sell his products under these names...that could lead into serious problems...
I would like to see his business going and going but i think he will close sooner or later...

They're nice, largely due to hitting a market where no other product is available, but nowhere near comparable with FW quality.

forgeworld kits in the beginning...hope you still know where forgeworld started...the first kits Tony made...and look where they are now...
you cant start as Fabricator General you need to take the steps...
Whitehorn - October 19, 2009 10:36 AM (GMT)
..but until they are fabricators, FW wouldn't touch them :P

Would it be worth TGC approaching them with a wishlist?
rabblerouser - October 19, 2009 06:02 PM (GMT)
So has anyone got any of these MK1 shoulder pads? Any comments on the quality or other pics?
Magos Explorator - October 19, 2009 06:19 PM (GMT)
They are not yet available (they get the first run this week, apparantly) so I doubt anyone outside of their store has any.

Do it Shroud Do it Shroud !
Whitehorn - October 20, 2009 02:12 PM (GMT)
Check my thread for Wishlists ;) Forgeworld Fluff'n'Horn may be open sooner than you think and there be no Dark Angels defending this one!

But these guys have a licence granted by GW...?! I'd love it if we could get stuff made by you guys and sold legitimately... but I fear a good old fashioned GW Legal bum-rape might occur if we try to promote anything that isn't licensed.

there's two main issue about doing it.
the first one is the use of IP, and as GW changed it a couple of years back, everything that is touching the GW world is possibly under IP.but again you cannot use "Genestealer" but DNAstealer or stealer of gene would be ok....
the second one is the use of original work of GW as a basis, mostly and in most countries you cannot cast product and resell them if you use a plastic GW shoulder pad as a basis for you conversion. for example, the russian custodes use clearly identifiable GW parts.
the main difference with the guys from ChapterHouse is that all their pieces are 100% cutom built, so even if they fit properly on an rhino, drop pod...etc.., they are not based directly on those kits neither using parts fo them.
Why they can still operate with GW not able to shut them down as there is cleary a breach of IP, because of US law system mostly as producing something for at least 25% different or new(or so, can't recall the correct range), even if it is based on another product, is your own creation and doesn't breach any IP unless it is a pure copy.
by the way, they seems to have hear our requests....
