:P +1 on ebay or make one yourself, you'll probably need to buy some 'fur' anyway to do the trim on the coat ect so you might as well buy a decent amount and then all of it will match too.

If you want to buy one I'd go with a Don Cossacks style one, should be able to get a USSR surplus one for a half decent price I'd imagine.

The only tutorial I've managed to find is this one for 1/6 scale stuff. I'm sure you could use a similar technique to make a larger one, though I'd imagine it needs something inside to give it stiffness.

I did have a link to an awesome specialist supplier of DDR and USSR militaria stuff in the US but I can't find it for the life of me :( lame hate loosing obscure sites.

I got a store in my town that sells that hats dorn and i got goggles like that and such.... ;)

Just don't hang out in the "pink" part of town, the locals might get the wrong idea and you'll get the other type of "bad" attention.... :D

Go back 40 years and you could perhaps make similar comments about Russian-esque regiments like the Valhallans or Vostroyans. ;)

I guess it depends on what occasions you want to be wearing the costume for? If it's some sort of 40k-related event I doubt people would get too upset with any regiment. Or are you planning on wearing it out around the town?

If so you could use "Burning Man Goggles"tm like i use they are easy to find and are cheap
