Looks Good. Can't wait to see it painted.
Doghouse - February 24, 2008 02:51 PM (GMT)
Looks great mate, I'll be watching this one. :)
Weiss - February 25, 2008 09:53 AM (GMT)
Can't wait to see a squad man. Has anyone done a pic of a squad of TS marines next to an IG army? That could be very interesting...
ShroudFilm - February 25, 2008 12:16 PM (GMT)
Very nice, very subtle - not as overblown as a lot of truescale attempts!
Weiss - February 25, 2008 12:32 PM (GMT)
Also, some straight-legged ones would be nice too. I think a lot of the problem with from-the-box marines is that they come in that ambiguous "poised" pose...
Falkus Kibre - February 28, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
I actually dont know who i want to paint them as too many people are doing WE and I am not one to conform, so they will probably be AL or TS. I got three more guys almost done i'll post them later.

Just poking my oar in (sorry) but he looks sort of gothic and brooding in a sort of word bearer style. Particularly cos you could see him ending up bad and horns sprouts from the helm.
The fact that he looks darkish grey in the current pics lends a bit of gravitas to why I mention it.
Just a thought :)
Master of the Faith. - February 28, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
Well he's not painted yet.
very sorry my bro forgot to log off again

Looks great dude, keep up the good work! I like how the sergeant towers above the guardsman, very menacing!

Woah, thats a big change

THIS....IS....ALPHA!!!!
Sorry, I watched 300 last night and the helmet on this guy set me off :D
I really like him. Are you going to add legion badges to his pads?
Falkus Kibre - March 1, 2008 04:35 PM (GMT)
as soon as I get decal paper I will :D
ShroudFilm - March 2, 2008 12:06 PM (GMT)
Awesome! It actually puts me in mind of a piece of artwork from the 40k compilation book, very nice!
The truescale technique you have used is very subtle, and perfectly executed - top marks, dude.
Falkus Kibre - March 2, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
thank you very much I hope one day to be as good as Doghouse(I got a long way to go)
Falkus Kibre - March 2, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Falkus Kibre - March 3, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
sorry for the double post but wouid anyone be interested in a turorial?
Weiss - March 3, 2008 04:59 PM (GMT)
That would be great man, I'd be very interested to see how you do it. I might use it, though I'm not doing a true-scale army for one of my heavy weapons troopers...
Falkus Kibre - March 3, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
Well do y'all want one on painting or coverting.
Also shroudfilm can you change the name of this topic from WE to AL.
Weiss - March 3, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
I'd say converting personally, but I'm pretty sure we're a bunch of greedy geeks, so if you have the time, and the inclination, go for both.
Falkus Kibre - March 3, 2008 05:05 PM (GMT)
okay i'll do one for converting then later for painting (I got lots of time) :D
thanks shroudfilm

Personally I really like the ways these turned out. The purpleish/blue armor looks great, very alpha legion. And also the true scale of the model is not overpowering, I myself am working on a true-scale alpha legion model as well. I am trying to get it as close to the 'Legion' book cover as possible.

I'd also be interested in see a tutorial on how you did your models, because it looks like you just made the legs longer from the knee down.
Magos Explorator - August 23, 2009 08:12 AM (GMT)
Nice model, white_charisma. :) I don't know if Falkus is very active here any more, but he posted a tutorial here:
http://z15.invisionfree.com/The_Great_Crus...p?showtopic=505You're correct in that it's a leg extension.
I have thought about True-Scaling too, and am torn between this method/Doghouse's and Apologist's!
ShroudFilm - August 23, 2009 12:42 PM (GMT)
Wow, yes - great Legion mini, WC!

I really like the Doghouse method, though I don't think I've seen the Apologists method. However the true-scaling method that I used not only lengthens the legs, but also beefs up the torso a bit and actually makes the armour look huge on the torso.
