Title: Tharn Garrison Force
Description: Or "How to Make Friends with Cultists"

ShroudFilm - March 18, 2008 05:00 PM (GMT)
My Imperial Army regiment will be the Tharn Garrison, raised from the regiments used by the World Eaters to pacify the planet during the Great Crusade. After the outbreak of the Heresy, the WE went back and picked up the garrison troops to mobilise in subsequent actions - to make up the numbers required for an expeditionary force rather than a PDF, the newly-appointed Imperial Governor Thellion Calpine offered amnesty to the indigenous Fire Cultists who were camped out and engaged in an active campaign of insurgency against the Imperial presence on their homeworld. Armed with whatever weaponry they could salvage from battlefields and warehouses, these conscripts soon found ways to set things on fire in the service of the Warmaster...

Here is my first WIP Imperial Army officer from the Tharn Garrison:

I really like the stance there, but is it just me or does the head look a little big compared to the body

i dont like the head....perhaps if you worked greenstuff and gave him a scared face...or a more calm head, rather than one barking orders

Vredesbyrd - March 19, 2008 02:01 PM (GMT)
I think the main reason it looks so much bigger is the difference in colour between the resin and the plastic components.

As for using the screaming head I think it works well - it looks like he's yelling orders as he draws his pistol to fit off an ambush...

I did notice a slight scale difference in FW resin to GW plastic, but as has been said I think a good undercoat will sort it out!

I modelled it to represent an officer shouting and threatening the conscript recruits, looking like he's getting out his pistol to carry out some "enforced leadership"... :D

Tonight I will be attempting my first TOTALLY pre-Heresy conversion - an Imperial Iterator in non-combat uniform!

Angron - March 20, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
Oh an iterator, dont think ive seen anyone done one of those before :P

might be me but the body looks a little short - maybe a couple of mm of green stuff in the waist join to lengthen would make the head seem more appropriate, without him standing out too much from the other grunts...

it could just be the coulour difference though.

yes Shroud ,great idea maybe the Maccrage guy as a base.

ShroudFilm - June 5, 2008 12:23 AM (GMT)
My Macragge pilot ended up as an assistant for my Apothecary in the WE Medicae strategem scene...
