Hey guys :)

As some of you may know already, I started to make models for a Cavalry Platoon of the IA for Apocalypse. Anyway, I thought that this formation deserved a datasheet on its own, and here is what I came up with:

Hope you can read it, please ignore any spelling mistakes and such, it was just a basic idea ;)

It's not playtested or anything, but I really want to know what you think about it :)

Is it too strong...or too weak ?

Thanks for sharing thoughts.

I don't have my copy to hand, but have you compared it to the FW Siege of Vraks lists? They have regular 40k mounted platoons in their Krieg lists, which would make a good benchmark for your list too.

How would "Rough Rider Squadrons operating neatly and fastly" justify a 5+ cover save at all times?

If they were standing still, they'd make a fairly large target, and they can't even hope to match the speed or efficiency of the Astartes Bikes or Land Speeders, who get a 4+ cover save for moving really, really fast.

I would take out that rule and reduce the points cost of the formation.

Since this would be a fairly large formation and they all have fleet, it would be fairly hard to maintain coherency at all times. How about something like the whole formation rolls their fleet move together? In effect, this would have all the Rough Rider units moving the same distance, increasing reliability.

Another idea would be to give the Leman Russ an overcharged engine to allow it to keep up with the cavalry.

Just a few ideas. Happy Hunting.
