Title: Expeditionary Fleets of the Great Crusade
Description: Notable conquests and personalities

ShroudFilm - May 15, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
Quite rightly so, it has been suggested that we compile a list of the Expeditionary Fleets that took part in the Great Crusade so that we have a definitive collected record of who did what, and where, and with whom.

Post your collected canon facts and references, and we will keep this list updated as much as possible!

GreyWolf - May 15, 2008 04:41 AM (GMT)
63rd Expedition Fleet- may want to include Davin, Ullanor, and Murder in the notable campaigns, although I'm not sure if it was that specific fleet that undertook those (the small possibility exists that the Luna Wolves got shuffled into a different fleet after Horus was promoted).

4th Expedition Fleet (from Descent of Angels)

Vessels
Dark Angels Strike Cruiser Wrath of Caliban
White Scars Strike Cruiser Swift Horseman (replaced by Wrath of Caliban)
Flagship Invincible Reason
Troopship Noble Sinew
Troopship Bold Conveyor
Frigate Intrepid
Frigate Dauntless

670th Expedition Fleet (from Legion)

Vessels
Flagship Blamires
Carrier Loren
Loudon*
Solar Wind*
Cantium*
Tancredi*
Alpha Legion Battle Barge Alpha**
Alpha Legion Battle Barge Beta**

*these vessels are not designated by type, but are named in the book
**these vessels belong to the Alpha Legion, and so are not necessarily part of the regular fleet (as evidenced by later scenes in the novel)

Characters
Lord Commander Namatijira, Alpharius*, Omegon*, Ingo Pech*, Thais Herzog*, Hetman Bronzi**, Hetman Soneka**, Major General Dev, Bajolur-Captain Chayne

*these are Alpha Legion personnel, and so serve with the Expedition for a time, yet are not necessarily a part of it
**these men are Alpha Legion operatives, so are in a "grey area"

Actions
Compliance of Six-Seventy One through Six-Seventy Twenty-Four*
Compliance of Nurth/ Six-Seventy Twenty-Five (failed)

*these campaigns most likely did not involve the Alpha Legion, or any other Astartes Legions

More to follow as I brush up on my novels. B)

Could notable regiments be added as a heading to each fleet? e.g. the accompanying legions, named Imperial Army regiments etc.

I wouldn't be so sure. If there were Alpha Legionares in that fleet we wouldn't know anything about it, which means it must not be Alpha Legion!

ShroudFilm - July 2, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)

Any chance someone could update this info to reflect Battle for the Abyss? I have yet to purchase a copy/read it, but am interested in relevant information for the Thousand Son involved. Is there any indication of what expedition he belonged to/fellow Legions involved with the Thousand Sons? I require information.... :ph43r:

(I'll delete this or a mod can if it is considered undesirable in this thread, I simply am hoping for updates and knowledge.)
Thanks in Advance,
BA

edit: So far I have that the Strike Cruiser Waning Moon commanded by Fleet Captain Mhotep is involved in the story. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated though.

ShroudFilm - September 16, 2008 11:29 AM (GMT)
I'm only about 7 chapters in... had NO time to read, but I am off to Prague tomorrow so hopefully I will finish it there! :D

I've not read any mention of any expeditionary fleets - we have a few collections of ships which have been commandeered, and a big one which shouldn't exist...

Magos Explorator - September 16, 2008 12:00 PM (GMT)
I don't believe the book details any expeditionary fleets.

teejay91b - December 20, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
I noticed in the entry for the 63rd Expedition, the final compliance of Murder is mentioned. I thought that the Diasporex appeared before the campaign was concluded. Could the world be considered compliant if hostilities were ongoing?

ShroudFilm - December 20, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
Interex... :D

It's an interesting point - I think the aim was the ending of hostilities on 140-20, which was essentially achieved?

teejay91b - December 29, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Oops! yeah, I meant Interex.

Inquisitor Malaclypse - December 30, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
what fleets (if any) were the World Eaters and/or Death Guard involved in?

just curious.
