For my next project after i finish my EC's i intend to make up a World Eaters army of around 1800pts. I'm using Codex:CSM because i think that it better reflects the World Eaters. Here's what i got so far;

Kharn (Chaos Lord)-140pts
-Mark of Khorne
-Daemon Weapon
3x 12 man Berzerker squad-801pts
-Segeant(Champion)
-Rhino
2x 10 man Tactical squad-350
-Sergeant
-2xflamer
-Rhino
2x 5 man Assualt squad-250
-Sergeant
-2x flamer

What do you think needs to be changed, if anything. What i eventually buy is going to be dependent on what is in the list. Thanks in advance.

Ain't no Tactical or Assault in the CSM... do you mean CSM and Raptor squads?

Good call on Berserkers - even PH the WE had them! (Really should have seen the whole Chaos thing coming, shouldn't they?) :D

It looks nice as a themed force, but it seems to me that the best AT weapon you have in there is probably the plasma pistols... Or are you giving the champions combi-meltas?

Yes i did mean CSM and Raptors, just listed them as Tac's and Assault's to make them sound like loyalists. Probably should have bracketed what they actually are like i did with kharn (Chaos Lord).
Ill swap 1 of the flamers in each of the CSM squads for meltaguns to deal with enemy armour, thanks for pointing that out Weiss.

I take it the rhinos are there to act as mobile terrain? Or is this in response to the faq saying you can wait until the squads number 10 to embark?

At 67 men, that's not bad for a chaos list. I think the problem though, is that you are extremely short-ranged, so you are going to have to rely on your opponnent to blow the hell out of the bezerkers so you can mount up and dash across the board at them. But your opponent is going to want to pick off the CSM and Raptors first because they can get to him fastest (then probably take your bezerker rhinos too).

It may be an idea to reduce the bezerker squads to ten so they can dash from the start and increase the size of the assault squads accordingly (I personally find 5-man assault units slightly too fragile...).

How do you kill tanks?

Give the champs Power Fists. They'll tear through everything.

Also, drop them to 10 if you want to get in the Rhino.. or give the Rhinos havoc launchers and just use them as artillery :)

Your 'Assault Squad' could be 5 man havocs, with 4 flamers in a Rhino, if they're not already Raptors.

I only just realised earlier today that the berzerkers wouldnt fit in the rhino, cant believe i made such a mistake! The berzerker squads will now be ten man squads. The 'assault' squads are raptors. The CSM and Raptor squads will have a flamer and a meltagun in each squad. Should I use the normal berzerker boxed set, modelling out the chaos icons, for the berzerkers or another set, and if so which one? I think that I will increase the 'assualt' squad to ten men each, as I have also found 5 man squads very fragile, especially against my mates Eldar (he's a big fan of starcannons). Now I realize that the army is quite short ranged, but I'm trying to make this army as fluffy as possible whilst still being pretty competive, which I feel I have accomplished with the list albeit after a few modifications. I've always seen the WE's being a infantry heavy army with very little in the way of heavy support, save the Land Raider, and almost entirely focused on CC or short ranged fire fights. Thanks for all the help so far guys, its greatly appreciated. I'll try and have an updated list up tomorrow (can't garantee it though).

I intend to use the Berzerker boxed sets for the Berzerker squads and the Chosen. I'll model out all the khornate symbols using green stuff. im goin to save up and get the Space Marine Battle company to get the tacs, assaulters and rhinos, as its cheaper than buying them seperately. I'll probly put the excess Command squad, Tac squads and Dev squads into a small Death Gaurd Army. What do you guys think i should use for Kharn?

Nice!

Just a thought on the chosen. They can infiltrate and have up to 4 special weapons. One trick I often pull is to deploy them 12' in cover away from an enemy tank. Jump out on your first turn and blast it with 4 meltas at 6 inches. It's not that World Eatery, but it will deliver skulls! :)

From my experience the Berserkers make great World Eaters - carve off the 'lapels' form the helmets and any Khorne symbols. Carve/add more as per your taste!
