There's no way in hell I can do this.
Crystal Coffin - March 2, 2008 06:11 PM (GMT)
Her music is too good it hurts alright.
henZ - March 2, 2008 06:16 PM (GMT)
It is. And I listen to it as a whole, often. I wouldn't be able to pick single tracks like that.
Crystal Coffin - March 2, 2008 06:19 PM (GMT)
I feel so bad for leaving "Bells for Her", "I Can't See New York", "Father Lucifer", "Cruel", "The Power of Orange Knickers", "Bliss" and Northern Lad" from my Top 20.
And soooooooooo many others. :Topaz:

Scarlet's Walk, Boys for Pele and Under the Pink are all BETTER albums than From the Choirgirl Hotel :Topaz:
Matys - March 2, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Scarlet's walk is 1. way too long and 2. contains a lot of fillers. Boys for Pele is indeed in the same league but not as good. Under the Pink is my third favourite album by her.
GimmeSomeRiver - March 2, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Is Under the Pink a dirty joke or is it just me?

Oh well. I can sort of understand why fans rarely regard songs off Scarlet's Walk as among their all-time favorites.
Initially, I thought Scarlet's Walk is too lengthy and some weaker tracks should have been erased to make it a tighter and a more concise album, but later I came to a realization what makes that record exceptional is its overall American countryside vibe. It's a terrific set of songs which range from crappy like "Mrs. Jesus" to run-of-the-mill like "Your Cloud", to wonderful masterpieces namely "Carbon" and "Virginia" - they all perfectly accompany the long, lonely yet meaningful journey of Scarlet. When you're on a journey, not every stop would please you.
Boys for Pele is like the bravest album ever made, no doubt about that. I love the incredibly quiet and dark mood to it. It's the record that Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan, Bjork and Kate Bush would only dream to create.

How can you in a MILLION years compare Björk to Tori? :manson:

OK, I made a mistake there. Bjork isn't a piano diva, sorry. Forgot about that :lol2:

And I'll say that Hounds Of Love beats all of Tori's efforts.

That's so predictable :Topaz:
Another reason why I despise BullaFuckingBarbie, besides his stupidity, is that he thinks Tori is watered-down Kate. Blah. Tori has a voice of an angel (and a sensual one at that), Kate sounds like a mosquito. :manson:
Anyway, I really like "Cloudbusting", "Wow" and "King of the Mountain".
