While this is disgusting, I don't agree with your statement entirely. Many people I know enlisted in the army to get their college education paid for to have a better life, and unfortunately had no idea a war was approaching.

While I ofcourse have to make it quite clear that this is terrible and unacceptable behavior, many of our soliders don't deserve this disrespect from you. Not at all.

Actually Stu I agree with a lot of what you have to say.

Americans can be very stupid and very insular, but every population of a country has its faults. The fact new orleans is still fucked is amazing to me. And I know watching Sicko last week astonished us at their attitude to healthcare.

I also agree with the saying 'America gets the president it deserves'.

That doesn;t stop me from loving the country though. Having spent a year backpacking around it a few years back, i still find the people and place incredible.
