Title: the 12/21/12 prophecy
Description: what do you think?

nothingfails - March 20, 2008 06:12 AM (GMT)
it probably won't happen, but I have to admit I am sometimes gullable enough to believe it.

Apparently, a Mayan book predicted December 21, 2012 would be the end of the world years ago, and a lot of people are buying into it. I just heard about it, but part of me is a little tense. However, I am really hoping this is another Y2K type of media scare. Anyways, if we're not supposed to know our exact date of death, how is it written when the end of the world is drawing? But still... it scares me because I haven't accomplished everything I've wanted to and makes me want to make the next 4 years the best just in case.

Who else has heard about this? And opinions?

SrkiSrle - March 20, 2008 06:42 AM (GMT)

Beautiful Stranger - March 20, 2008 11:04 AM (GMT)
The thing is though the Mayan calendar is exact and could still be used today and would be completly accurate.

I believe they went by the stars and shit to put it together and I think they discovered that some event will happen on that date having to do with an object from space.

Part of me is buying into this and part of me is thinking it's bullshit. I mean, people said the same thing two years ago about 6/6/06, but NOTHING HAPPENED.

I honestly don't see why this is any different.

Beautiful Stranger - March 20, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
Isn't a meteor supposed to come VERY close to the earth on that date? We know now it will miss us the first time around but maybe they somehow saw this thing in space and figured out its orbit and thought it would hit?
