Title: So...did anyone get tickets for the tour?
Description: Wembley sold out

Fembot 1 - May 16, 2008 09:29 AM (GMT)
The first night is gone!

I'm only going if I can get gold circle :sadbitch:

When are they going to add a second date :Topaz:

Riverwide - May 16, 2008 09:35 AM (GMT)
I actually didn't even think of it til now and I'm still not even remotely bothered. :lmao:

bulletproof_heart - May 16, 2008 09:37 AM (GMT)
Nor am I Riv.... have fun if you did get tix!

Fembot 1 - May 16, 2008 09:48 AM (GMT)
Well I can't blame either of you for not being so keen this time around - given the promo tour from hell these last couple of weeks.

But as Wembley is in my manor it's less of an outlay than for you guys, and the standing tickets are half as much as I paid last time - that's assuming that I manage to get one!

Riverwide - May 16, 2008 09:51 AM (GMT)
Ah yeah, if I lived anywhere near one of the venues, I'd definitely go. But when you have to factor in travel and accomocations expenses, it's a whole different story.

zepher-in-the-sky - May 16, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
Yes, I did get tickets this morning for Nice & Paris. However, I did NOT get up at 6am and stand in line as of 8am. I had already made peace with the idea of not getting tix (but stadium shows....80,000 places in Paris, UMMMM).
I connected to the official site. It crashed in 2 seconds, if the internet rumors are to be believed. 30 minutes later I connected to another site selling tickets (Carrefour). Got 2 tix in about 2 minutes. Paid less for these 2 tickets (best available) than I did for one CT ticket. For Paris, I live ONE lightrail stop from the Stade de France (no travel at all). For Nice, well I used a free ticket on Air France and am willing for pay the price for 4 nights in a hotel for a mini-holiday (I'll see some friends down there too while I'm there).

Riverwide - May 16, 2008 10:17 AM (GMT)
Nice to hear that someone in here actually bought a ticket! :chuckle:

Jimmy Mack - May 16, 2008 10:32 AM (GMT)

I totally forgot all about it!

Be nice! :drama:
Seriously, I put in MINIMUM effort. I skipped out on work (unpaid) and BLEW a whole day in line for RIT & for CT (a major investment for a 2-hour show). This time, I was at home (off today, papers to grade) and had the whole thing wrapped up in 35 minutes.
I'm not into stadium shows and I'm not into HC, but I AM still into Madonna. So, I'm happy with my return on this minimum investment.
Not sure I would have travelled very far to see this show (I mean, she WILL tour at least 2 if not 3 more times in the next 10 years. At the current pace, iwe've had 4 tours in 7 years).

Riverwide - May 16, 2008 10:36 AM (GMT)
I *was* being nice!! It's a Madonna forum but you're the first one who has actually bought a ticket. The rest of us are such :flop: fans! :lmao:

mingemuncher - May 16, 2008 10:38 AM (GMT)
I forgot about it until I got to work. I got seated tickets in the first block by the stage, about half an hour ago. I must have got lucky. Wembley is really easy to get to for me.

I hope this tour doesn't turn out to be a giant turd, that would be disappointing.

I was just teasing! The fact that I didn't drag my ass out of bed at 6am (ESPECIALLY since I had the day off) says a lot about how I feel about this album and tour. I never got excited, or felt the rush while waiting/after getting the tix that I have since 1987.

SuperPop - May 16, 2008 01:15 PM (GMT)
YUP I got the £160 ones for Wembley exactly next to the VIP section...the closest seated you can find... :fag:

If they add a second date, I might aim for the Golden Circle ...

bulletproof_heart - May 16, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
I bet it's lovely to have money to burn :P

engin - May 16, 2008 01:27 PM (GMT)
Gonna get them tomorrow!!

Going to wait in line in the morning with a friend :manson:

bulgar - May 16, 2008 05:27 PM (GMT)

nahhhh

not yet.

henZ - May 16, 2008 06:25 PM (GMT)
I'm broke. So no Madonna for me this time around :(

Jimmy Mack - May 16, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)

We're not going to bother going now. When we sat down and thought about it, there is nothing that inspires either of us about this era. The reason why we were going was because Chris hasn't seen her, but now it's obvious that she's on a two-yearly tour cycle, we can easily catch her again soon.

(Naturally, as soon as the first video clip leaks, I'll be RABID to go!!!)

FuckBuddy - May 16, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
the lack of interest among fans for this tour is rather funny.
personally, i'd only bother gettin golden circle tickets for an athens gig, which is unlikely to happen. i will get the dvd, though. :D

engin - May 17, 2008 09:02 AM (GMT)
Got my tickets this morning

Yeah, this is what's disconcerting for me. Not only am I not crazy about this sound and incarnation, but in 7 years we've had 4 tours. And we know some of the details of her Live Nation contract, so we know there will be 2 if not 3 more tours before 2018.

By the way, I've read that not a single date has sold out yet. I know they're stadiums, but it looks like sales are far from brisk at the moment.

that's understandable. remember, she's a legend for turning a concert to a spectacle. why would anyone bother to view her from the screens? there was a time when she could sell out stadiums easily, but that was a totally different epoch. in present times people are far more conscious when attending a concert. they expect value for money.

Riverwide - May 17, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
She should have stuck to arenas.

I wish she had. I hate stadium shows (I know, I'm going, but the Stade de France is one lightrail stop from my flat). The show is supposedly sold out, but that just means all the 3rd party reselling sites got maximum numbers of ticekts. There are plenty of tickets still left on this sites (and I'm not even talking about e-bay), even if according to official press, it's sold out (NOT)!

johnnox - May 19, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
I haven;t got tickets but i am torn.

At the moment, i don't want to go, but because I have seen every one of her British tours, i feel like I should go. And I dont want to regret not going closer to the date.

If another date goes on sale, I may buy tickets. At the moment, I dont care. I'm more excited about seeing Duran Duran at the O2!

Karbatal - May 19, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
More excited with Duran Duran??? What's next, a cardigan with pad shoulders? Johnnox, ride the delorian and go back to the future!

bulletproof_heart - May 20, 2008 08:07 AM (GMT)

I would feel a dick at a Girls Aloud concert though. I might run into my niece and her mates there; I'd be like grandad!

Plus I hate that ginger cow and the thought of seeing her ugly mug on a big screen fills me with bile!

Jimmy Mack - May 20, 2008 09:03 AM (GMT)

I'm going to see Yazoo and Goldfrapp next month so am, obviously, much more excited about going to see them because I actually got off my flaps and pur-chased tickets for them both!
