So 300,000 is platinum in the UK. Not amazing, but not bad either considering "2 Hearts" wasn't an overwhelming success. I wonder if subsequent releases will keep it afloat. Album sales will *plummet* for all acts over the new few weeks.

I've read somewhere that Parlophone will continue to promote "Wow" for the next month or so until "In My Arms" is ready for a full single release. "Wow" is only like a stop-gap thing. Is this true?

I think it'll hit 2xP eventually, but unless one of the singles goes stratospheric, it'll be a long road to reach that certification.

though i think in my arms is a much better album track than wow, i somehow doubt it can be as radio friendly as the latter. while far from impressive, u can just tell wow can be catchy as hell for the masses that bought fever. this must be the only reason it's charting on the top30 right now. maybe emi should try promoting wow in the next couple of months by filming a new video yet without a physical release, and then move on to the next single. personally, i believe the only song that can sell x to this point is the one, it just screams to be a huge hit all over the place. like a drug is my second option, though i bet they're fools enough not to even consider releasing it.

in other words, i really don't see what the fuss with in my arms is all about. it's a typical calvin harris production that, while decent enough, would have nobody raving about it if it wasn't for kylie's name involved.

How about they send "Wow" and "In My Arms" to radio simultaneously and Kylie does videos for both and they release them together and then they could release a "Wow/In My Arms" double single?

I simply don't agree I'm afraid. IMO, "In My Arms" screamed *hit* from the very first time we heard it. It's a near-perfect pop song. It doesn't sound cheesy or naff, which "Wow" skirts with. It stands a far greater chance of being a hit than that or "Like A Drug".

if it was my decision, i would have chosen in my arms as the first single for x, it's just that i fear it may be too edgy for the masses that expect kylie to come up with pure pop nonsense. hopefully wow is only promoted to fill the gap between official single releases. fingers crossed, in my arms will be the next single, followed by the one, followed by either like a drug or sensitized.
