I personally like him, I dunno he used to have this different way about him from sa and sa2 but now a days he's a little more hero then dark.
I also like how they patched up a few things, he's not as obsessed with his past, it was ok for a while but It wouldn't have been good if he was "always" wondering about it, I think he pretty much knows his past now.

also I don't know why he rides mother cycles or how in the heck he got one or knew how to drive it xD but his game was pretty good flawed but good.
and I've been watching the next gen parts and Shadow seems pretty cool in it, I don't think he's "prepping up a cool image" at all I just think he turned out cool.

I tested something on my copy of Shadow the Hedgehog. It turns out he was a BIT faster in a vehicle than on foot, and he is able to take more damage.

On foot = Agility.

In vehicle = Durability.

I think Shadow's an awesome character, and he's actually my favorite.
One reason I like Shadow is because he is probably the most developed character in the series. The other characters don't have much of a background, though Shadow's past is very detailed and has a lot about it. It makes him a more interesting character.
As for his personality, that's another reason why he's my favorite. He's basically the only one in the cast who doesn't talk a whole lot. Not many real people talk that much, which makes him a bit more realistic. Also, he had quite a few dark moments in his past, so I don't really blame him for his not-so-good attitude.
Through all of the games he's been in, I like his personality the most in SA2:B and Sonic Next Gen. In SA2:B, he acted very calm most of the time, even during fights and such. He stays collected, which is very neat to me. Also, I found it very cute how all he wanted to do was fulfill his promise to his friend. Though he kinda misunderstood his promise to her (Okay, more than just "kinda"...) I think that it really shows that Shadow is more than just a bad-a** hedgie. He can be caring to the people he knows well, which goes against the popular belief that he hates every single person around him. I mean, over the past couple of games he has become friends with Rouge too, and they are often found helping each other out on their adventures. In Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, I felt that Shadow was too obsessed with his past. I don't blame him for wanting to know more about himself (anyone would), but I think he got too carried away with it. He especially got carried away in ShTH, and it just started to get corny. Even so, I like how he was more talkative than he usually is in ShTH. As for Sonic Next Gen, I absolutely love him in this game! He is still mostly calm, but even so he shows feeling. For example, when he learns that the entire world will one day go against him, he actually gets upset. That proves that he isn't just an angsty character that cares about nothing at all. XP Also, it was so nice to have a break from him obsessing over his past! x3 He can start focusing on other things rather then himself now.

I agree with you guys. I found that the vehicles were totally unnecessary. He already has enough power and speed on his own, so why does he need the help of guns and cars? Plus, where'd he learn to drive anyway?
I think I mentioned this on another topic, but I'll say it here anyway since it has to do with Shadow. Shouldn't Shadow be against guns since they are what GUN used to kill Maria?

I think Shadow is a WONDERFUL charicter. I was a very good idea for the sega folks to introduce him. He is a great antihero (or is it hero now?) and I think they should really try developing the other charicters as much as they did him. It would be wonderful if they showed some of Amy's or Tails Backround and maybe show how they react to him.

Shadow is one of my favs. Him and Blaze almost act alike in a way. I like his old voice

I HATE him. ^^; I never did, I think he is just a emo sonic, personally, I feel they should cut him from the series, I don't think he has a rolle at all, the series was fine before he came. Don't flame me for not likeing him, I'm not trying to sound bad here, But I feel he umm "sucks" not to sound bad... It's my opinion, I don't mind if you like him, but I DONT. He was made to be a Dark/Neutral character, but there are So many of those, he isn't evil any more.

he's like the first with that, in my opinion I don't think he's emo I just think he doesn't like talking about himself.
and if he can't remember much of his past he can't really HAVE anything to talk about, and if he put his past behind him then there's like zero left to talk about.
also he's more heroic from what i've seen a lot less dark nowadays, and well he's like sonic cause that's how he was born not really his fault he resembles him right, and the need for speed isn't there like with Sonic instead it's the need to be more powerful then the rest.

as for being like an emo sonic, I really don't think so, Sonic's personality's like the wind so to speak going wherever he wants having fun and saving people but with Shadow it's different.
Shadow's more the quiet type, he'll step up when he feels he needs to but he's not the type that has a NEED for heroics or a need to help he just does what he feels is right, really the only resemblances with him and Sonic are their sheer look and their super speed ^^;

I liked him the most in SA2 and Sonic Battle, other than that Sega seemed to get a little weird with him... I didn't really like the whole guns, vehicles, and multiple Shadows things... I liked it when there was only one Shadow, he was cool... he was the ultimate lifeform, with no need for weapons other than his powers.

Even though I understand that he doesn't wanna get close to others, I kinda want him to either become friends with Cream or Tikal... they both share similarities with Maria and I could see Shadow being protective of both of them because of it... but that's just my thought, I personally doubt that'll ever happen, but whatever he's still cool... I just hope he shapes up in future games.

I don't understand why SEGA gave him weapons. What was the whole idea? My opinion, targeting older players.

Shadow is just making it easier for his enemies by using these weapons and vehicles, like I said he is more powerful without them... so there is no excuse as to why they should give him this stuff, it was obviously all about the money and the sells rather than Shadow himself. ;_;

I played his game and hated it, I traded it in too... I really would of liked if his game didn't involve him using guns or cussing, if it was like a Sonic Adventure game only with Shadow as the lead then that would of been awesome! And no multiple endings, I mean unlockable endings would be nice but I want a real solid story and a way to get to the one and only ending without having to play through certain missions... also I want characters to interact with him like they really would, no "Yo Shadow u da best!" crap... <.<

well frankly I think the reason behind the guns is cause I don't see Shadow as "that heartless" to strike out some person with a chaos ability would hurt REALLY bad I'd rather be shot, plus there's a chance at living, I really don't see this wanting to murder thing from him, if he shot somebody they may live if they're lucky, if he shoots them with a chaos ability they'd be dead for sure xD xD

as for the cars, sure he can run faster without them, but with them he can run over things, those monsters would get annoying if he had to take them out one by one xD
Also I've never really seen how high Shadow can jump, Sonic can jump over aircraft carries, but we've never seen Shadow get that far, maybe he needed the car to make the jump and if it failed he could jump off, I dunno ^^;

as for the un-lockable stories, I think sega wasn't trying to do anything bad by it, I think they were TESTING his fan-base to see if he'd be better off good or bad, that's what i think, also all the guy players play him as evil and all the girls play him as good or...at least in my family xD

Black doom deserves to die though, so glad on the last ending he goes mid-evil on that guy xD

I thought it was mind boggling when the guy from the future said Shadow was put down by the people, and Shadow STILL didn't wanna turn against humanity, only those who oppose him.
