I've been wondering about this for a while.

on sonic x third season Sonic and Amy were about to drowned, then a sheild-type bubble took then out of the water, and back up to the x-tornado.
what is this? O.o
the only thing said was "I think something out there is protecting us." does that mean the planet egg's energy saved them? or the power over the chaos emeralds Sonic has allowed the energy to protect them? o.o

Possibly a small hint on another upcoming season perhaps?

AS in a cliff hanger? yeah possibly.

Still I'm curious how they made it, and how'd Sonic stay under so long? he must have awesome lounges that's for sure.
I guess it must have been the chaos energy that was in the water-planet thing.

The whole ending of the 3rd season of Sonic X was kinda unimaginative. Why did Cosmo need to die?! Man, they could´ve made Super Emrealds of the Chaos Emerald using the Master Emerald, everyone goes Hyper and bye-bye Metarex! xD

There must've been some logical explanation for it. As for Sonic and Amy not dying, your theory sounds about right Miss Trixie. It would be great if there was another season of Sonic X though, but they already confirmed that there wasn't going to be another one. But Miss Trixie's answer sound more probable. And please forgive for correcting you Miss Trixie but it's "survive", just one of those words where four different letters could be in its place.

Well, it probably made sense in the original japanese version, but when it came to the US, 4kids probably cut so much out of it...I think it will return, it's possible.
