Title: Sonic Riders 2?
Trixie Prower - December 12, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Ok I'm probably the last one who thought this, but did team Sonic get into the future or something? O.o
I mean the city had loads of hover-cars it was metal and huge and built-up like a futuristic version of station square.
how did team Sonic get into this place? O.O in sonic adventure there were cars now they're hover-cars?
also G.U.N is the head defense system for the nation, I thought they were just a roage group within the government.
I'm so confused. xD
also if you don't know what I'm talking about I saw the starting for sonic riders zero gravity and they were like in the future. o.o

Crazy story lines and many plotholes is the current game design method for Sonic Team. The hover cars might have been made using the same tec as Sonics air bords as for G.U.N. beats me. But Sonic Riders sucked as does this.
Trixie Prower - December 13, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
Well I do think the hover-cars are cool, but just look at the city. =O

the only logic to this is that Sonic and co are immortal, or that the people REALLY worked hard on that stuff. xD
2Tails - December 14, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
Sonic Team' s confusing everybody" xD

Arn't thos the pipes people use to get around in futurama?
006 - December 14, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Sonic Adventure Battle (Modern)
Sonic Heroes (Futuristic)
Shadow the hedgehog (Modern again)
Sonic the hedgehog (Modern, I think)
Sinic riders (both) (Futuistic)
SEGA just needs to pay more attention to whet they're putting in the games.

Yes they are those pipes!

Maybe one place is more futuristic than the other. I know it' s silly and stupid, but that' s a possible explanation.
guns go bang!! - December 15, 2007 12:16 PM (GMT)
I thought the reason for this is because the Sonic world is more futuristic than our world. It's even stated at the beginning of Sonic X (when Tails saves Sonic and Cream from Area 99 or whatever...ugh, haven't watched it in ages) that technology in the Sonic world is more advance than the technology in our world. Or something along those lines. And it matches up with the games as well. Using the list of games Storm just gave us...:
Sonic Adventure Battle - human world / modern
Sonic Heroes - Sonic world / futuristic
Shadow the hedgehog - human world / modern
Sonic the hedgehog - (the ooold one?) I'm not sure...lol sorry >.<
Sonic riders - Sonic world / futuristic
And there ya go. That's always what I've thought as it's made most sense than anything else I or others have come up with so far.

I would agree, but Sonic riders always takes place in the human world. Infact at one point (I forget which stage) you get attacked by G.U.N. forces as your air bording along. The games were much better in Sonics world anyway.

Ah, you're right. My bad. I haven't played Sonic Riders for a while now.
I dunno. Unless we count Sonic Riders as modern, not futuristic..? From what I remember, the only thing futuristic about it were the hoverboards and I think the vehicles...but I seriously can not remember much else..except for those two tracks which are out in the nature and the one in Eggman's base or whatever and the one in the sky which is meant to be hard I think...hrm...
Evil Tails - December 15, 2007 02:57 PM (GMT)
I try not to think about it. It hurts my head.
Raichu - December 15, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
Maybe the futuristic cities they go through are made by Eggman himself? He's the only person who is that smart and can create that kind of technology. Even so, that doesn't make sense because it's not possible for someone to build full fledged cities in such short amounts of time.
Maybe the futuristic places they go through are all a part of one city, just different areas of that city?
Trixie Prower - December 17, 2007 07:12 AM (GMT)
I'd say Raichu's explanation is the most realistic.
but then again why would G.U.N be using cars before and now be using robots? well they did use robots in SA2 but those were plans stolen from Eggman.

Sonic Riders isn't strictly cannon - the only cannon Sonic games are:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog CD
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Heroes
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog '06
Sonic Riders, on the other hand, is a spin-off, like Sonic R and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. So it doesn't HAVE to fit into the story.

Well, here's something about Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity that I found.
Apperently, it takes place only a few months after the first Sonic Riders. (Instruction Booklet says so.) So to get such an acheivement within only a few months is incredible.
Also, since when did Tails know how to drive a futuristic car? He's only 8 and he's driving? I know he's a pilot and all, but this is totally different.

i no becauz drivng is moar dangerous tan piloting a home-made aircraft, amirite?
Tak - January 14, 2008 07:02 PM (GMT)
Well, I just beat Zero Gravity last night and there's still no explanation as to why they are in such a futuristic place. I take back what I previously said on this topic about it maybe being one of Eggman's cities. If it was built by Eggman, I doubt Sonic and other civilians would casually drive through it; they'd be cautious and stay away from it.

He's already proven himself to be exceptional with mechanics, so maybe they are letting him bypass having a license.
