I know sgea's stated that Tails is 8 years old.
But Frankly I think he seems older then that, I always had assumed he was a 12 year old before sonic heroes came out.

Does Tails just have a higher mental age or something?
Cause most of the time he doesn't act like an 8 year old, I would have pegged Cream for 8 yet I hear she's 6. O.o

I think his newer voice spoils the illusion that he's older for me mostly. I sometimes think he's less than 8 becuase of his almost-kindergarden-sounding voice. They should settle for something like what he had in Sonic Adventure 2.

Tails seems around 10 to me but Cream doesn't seem 6 xD Same with Amy being 12 chasing after a 15 year old hedgehog o.O I find it wrong... lol. Like when Tails had to kill Cosmo, he's only 8. -.-

Not sure if it is, Sonic Team changes the official ages all the time >_<. But personally, I think his personally, his voice, and size belongs more around the 12-13ish area. He doesn't act or sound 8 in my opinion ^^:.

The Sonic Heroes instructions manual places him as age 8. However, I believe that he is somewhere between the age of 10 or 11.

I think he's 11-12. It seems that sadly, SEGA can never make up there mind.

Another fault in Sonic.

In my opinion, Tails, Cream and Amy are wrongly aged.

• Tails, for his way to think and his advanced knowledge, should be AT LEAST 12 or 13, maybe 14.
• Cream, well, she certainly acts a bit childish sometimes, but 6 is too low for her, because sometimes she shows more maturity...probably 9, 10 or even 11.
• Amy...heh, she's immature too, but she looks more like if she was 14.

The rest, well, are more or less proportional to their way to think and appareance.

You people are talking as if Sega changes the ages every game (not all of you just a couple)... Amy had her age changed once, Charmy's age wasn't in the official Japanese manual and only the English one from what I read... so his age wasn't really changed it was just corrected... Rouge being 17 in Sonic Heroes was a typo...

Tails, Cream, and Amy do all seem older than they are... Tails and Cream are pretty mature for their ages... and Amy... well she can pass for 12 but also seems like she's 14 or something. ^^;
Tails seems like he's 12 to me...
Cream seems like she's around 9 or 10 to me...
And Charmy seems 6 to me either way. X3

In the games I would place his age between 12-13 why? you ask because why would a 15 year old hedgehog hang out with a 8 year old fox.

In the Archie comics I think they raised his age to 14 and Sonic 16 because of his new look.

Yea i agree with you. Also an 8 year old saving the world? Tails is very very smart. I cant see a 8 year old being that smart. I think they should make him the same age as sonic and Knuckles. And the voice reallllly has to go. They make tails out to be a wuss and I dont think he is

I agree, I don't think his age suits him very well.
Tails definitely strikes me as a 12 year old, especially back when he had his voice from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. His new voice makes him seem more like his official age though. The voice had a lot to do with it. Even so, both his brain and how he acts doesn't really fit an 8 year old.
Plus, as Evil Tails said, it's odd that a 15 year old would hang out with someone so young. I mean it's possible, just unlikely.
Hmm, my favorite voice for Tails would have to be the one from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. those were the same voice, right?

Alsooo, I agree that Cream and Amy's ages don't fit well either.
Cream is too mature to be a six year old. She is naive at times like one would be, but usually she just doesn't fit it. I'd say she's at least 8 or 9.
As for Amy, I think of her being a 14 year old.I don't really know why, it just seems to fit her more.

Also, a bit off topic, but what's Sonic's official age now? 15 or 16?

The reason why Tails is being degraded is due to the horrible 4Kids voices, they need to bump Tails' age to 12 or something like that, yeah this is all fake however it's strange. I believe I read that Charmy Bee was actually 16 but the age drastically was lowered to 6.

This is always confusing. Back in AoSTH he said he was 4 and a half, but that would mean he would be a teen now, and he isn't. He isn't 8 either, he seams more like 12. I really wish they could get a better voice for him, because at this point he could be mistaken for a girl. New voice actors should be given to everyone really, Espio, Knux, Tails and Eggman especialy.

Let's take a look at the facts of Tails just to see how "nuts" the guy who thought him up was:

Okay, Tails is a fox. Pretty straight forward, right? Just hold on for a second. He has two tails that he uses to fly by spinning them like helicoptor propellers. He can not only fly a plane, but build one as well. He can make bombs, missles for the plane, hoverboards and whatever else his little mind can think up. He knows how to defuse a bomb. (Sonic Adventure 1) He has an IQ of 300. He's 8 years old. He hangs out with a 15 year old hedgehog that is world famous.

Pretty nuts, huh? Well, that's the idea. So, Tails being 8 years old just works that way. :)

I think Tails' age is just right. He's 8.
And I'm in favor of his 4kids voice actor, unlike a lot of people, he really sounds 8 there.
Somtimes I feel that people hate 4kids because they're just following the crowd.

In any case, if you're saying he should be older because of his intelligence... How old would he have to be? 40 or 50 maybe. Tails age is just fine the way Sega has it now.

Remember, the television, game, and comic series do NOT blend together. Hence this, Tails' age can be different. In shows like AoStH, Tails is portrayed as a very young child. Sonic X, which is completely different, put Tails a few years older. Notice how Sonic never talks about Sally or anyone back from Mobius, because he probably never even met them in the Sonic X universe.

The games all are probably years apart from each other, because mass invasions probably would take a lot of time in Eggman's hands. This indicates the age changes between the characters.

And the comic series is the most different of all. Why? Becuase all the character personalities are different. Also, there are many comic universes for changing Tails' age around, and everyone else's.

Well, that's mainly because most people who play games these days think in a more realistic manner. What was once considered the rule in games has now become the exception.

As for Eggman, yes he does have an IQ of 300, but so does Tails. What's wrong with two different individuals having the same IQ? I don't see anything wrong with it. :)

Same is with soinc. In sonic heroes there was like 7 years difference between tails and sonic and if tails is 15 years old to this day sonic would like be 7 years older...

So most of your guessings are verry close but still... I remember looking at some internet page where it was said that he would be 13 years old by now (I looked at the date of update and it was this year... Lost the site adress though :TailsAshamed: )
Then again Tails only sounds so childish because the voice actors make him sound childish... if they would let a teenager of like 14/15/16 years old do it maybe we will get some supprising results :TailsSmile: .
