Title: Aurorae's Topic of Torture!
Description: Dry clean only. =]

This isn't a topic of doom, it's where I shall be posting my sprites, and where you peopes will tell me how to improve!

So far I only have one sprite to show right now...

She's called Mimi the Muskrat, she's my character. She's 10.

And I really need to know how I can improve, I'll probably also have another sprite up next week, or Pixel Art.

Okay, first off, there's one too many colors here for the 16- bit style... waaay too many. I counted at least 26, just try to tone it down a little...

I'd try getting rid of some of the rather "pointless" colors.
Here, I'll show you. Here's the current pallete (I may have missed one or two, but oh well...):

And... well, I edited the pallete around a bit so I could show you what to remove here:

Okay. I've got a lot of explaining to do for this part.
See, to change the pallete, I did the following (still one color over 17, but it'd probably just have to do for this. LISTEN CAREFULLY, 'CAUSE YOU COULD GET CONFUSED....):

1.) Okay... so first, let's start with the hair. As you can see, I replaced the second darkest shade with the third darkest. The second really had no point, as for it was randomly placed/ barely used and it was a little bit "harder" to pick out, anyways. Same with the fifth darkest; took it out, replaced it with the sixth darkest, due to them seeming identical enough to be replaced by one.

2.) Second of all, the main fur color... there isn't much to this one at all, though. All I merely had to do was fourth darkest with the third darkest, then make THAT tone a little darker (Also, I'd like to remind you that there needs to be a little more shading on the part of her head that's next to the hair- section- thing facing to the right (her right). ^^;)

3.) As for the braids, it would've been more reccomended if you used the eye color; I mean, the lightest pure blue color compared to the regular pure blue color looked identical enough to replace one with teh other...! O_o;

4.) And now... the denim one- piece skirt- thing. No shade had to be removed there, although, it'd probably look a lot better if you didn't outline the whole front pocket with black; it'd most likely be more reccomended for you to outline the pocket with the second darkest denim color, and leave the edges and the part of the pocket facing the shadow black. ^^;

5.) And FINALLY, the coloring for the gloves/ muzzle/ etc. and the shoes: the second darkest shoe color was considered pointless, due to only being placed in one spot and being rather unnoticeable. So, yeah, I edited that one out, too. ^^ I'd also suggest taking out the fourth darkest glove color , and replacing the third darkest glove color with the main shoe color.

That's all for the pallete and the shading problems. For the skirt, I'd also highly reccommend reshading it; like, maybe mae there be AT LEAST one wrinkle in the fabric (Hint: look at where her right ((HER right!!! XD)) hand is. ;) )

Okay, now for the pros:
Overall and despite all of the shades, you did a great job at this Sonic Advance 3 select art (basically pixel art, due to the fact that you, in the game, do NOT control that pixellated version of the characters.). The character originality is very nice, along with the species; very unique! I'm glad she wan't a fox or hedgehog or a hedgefox or something like that... or a charrie where it's a unqie species, but it still looks like one of the official characters. ^-^ She actually LOOKS like her species (I think XD), and has very different clothing; unlike those fan characters who are basically recolors of Sonic but are called "porcupines." XDDDD

Oh, and one more tip: try not to outline EVERYTHING in black! The very outside outlining is okay, since it's supposed to have a thick, black outline, but as for some of the inside outlining, some things that hit the shade more could be outlined with a darker version of that area's color (such as how I explained the outlining on the pocket to you earlier. ^-^).

Overall, like I said, this was done rather well! Try customs sometime though! ;]

I hope I helped. ^__^

Thanks for the tips, I knew I messed up on some things, now that I know what I missed I can fix it up. I'll post a redo later.
