We all know it is Knuckles fate to guard and protect the Master Emerald. But He often claims that his fate was to "guard the Master Emerald FOREVER."(openning cut-scene after unlocking Knuckles in Sonic Adventure.) Forever??? So if the Master Emerald exists forever then does that mean Knuckles will exist forever??? Is Knuckles an immortal???? My thinking is(being that his ancesters were consumed by the Master Emerald(Sonic Adventure) that he is somehow linked to the Master Emerald. That if he were to die the Master Emerald would cease to exist(and thus would not be able to control the power of the chaos emeralds) and vice-versa. Kinda like a symbiotic bond between Knuckles and the Master Emerald. So as long as either one exists, the other will always exist. But that's just my thinking on it.

I would assume that he meant he'd watch it for the rest of his life and that that would just be his title.

I'd also be wondering why in the new games he seems to have nick'd the emerald LOL, it's never around when he is maybe he just tricked somebody else into doing it. xD

Knuckles isnt smart enough to trick someone. Often he's the one getting tricked. :lol:

Like Trixie said, "until he dies". If he was immortal, he would not have an age and he is 16. Knuckles is gonna be skrewed once he dies. ((unless he mates with Rouge... ^//^3))

Oh well, it's just a theory.

In both SA2 and SA something breaks/destroy the master emerald and Knuckles doesn’t die xD
